So I'm sure many of you have seen the trailer for what looks like it will be quite a kick-ass biopic of the life of Freddie Mercury and the rest of Queen. I just thought it would be good to have a thread to discuss the movie here.
Yeah it's had an interesting life so far, with Bryan Singer, and Sacha Baron Cohen, hopefully it makes it out in a solid state.
Unfortunately, it might be a bit problematic, even without Bryan Singer's involvement. Though the film will "acknowledge" his gay relationships, the marketing implies a focus on the heterosexual ones and a complete absence of the words "AIDS" in the synopsis, instead calling it a "life-threatening illness". That seems... unwise. Maybe that's just shitty marketing and the movie will actually be better than the marketing implies.
I don't know how it'll end up but I know for 100% sure that I'm going to see it anyway. I also know this is going to sound bleak, but I wouldn't even let my own death stop me from seeing it opening night. I'll just arrange for Doctor Strange to get my astral form a ticket.

Just saw a poster at the theater last night, and while I've been hearing October or November as a release date, it said November 2nd on the poster, so I guess that's the USA release date.
