You know you're in for a treat when we were considering starting this description, "When an Estonian cyborg defects to America..."
This Estonian cyborg, as you've come to expect from Estonian cyborgs by this point in time, is the ultimate killing machine. Played by The Actor You Get When Reb Brown is Making Something Even Crappier, he possesses the devastating ability to shoot lasers out of his eyes! For this reason he is called
LaserEyes. Er,
The Blinkinator. Maybe
Cyclops from X-Men. No, it was Firehead! He's called Firehead, since he can shoot fire lasers from his head eyes.
Who's the most suitable man to track down Firehead and ensure that he doesn't go on a rampage? Did you say Chris Lemmon, son of screen legend Jack? Of course you didn't. Did you know he existed? Well, have you
ever seen someone really commit themselves to a terrible Jack Lemmon impression? Right, of
course you haven't. But take our word for it, Chris makes a strong case that the true villain of this movie is Hollywood Nepotism.
Actually, the real villain is a shadowy organization known as The Upper Order, which plots the beginning of World War III from a rented conference room at the airport Ramada. They are led by another legend, Oscar winner Christopher Plummer, who was having so much fun that he brought along fellow Oscar winner Martin Landau. Rumor has it they almost convinced Orson Welles to come along too, but he wanted to spend his twilight years pursuing dignified, artistHAHA! We almost made it through that sentence!
Join Mike, Kevin and Bill, all Estonian defectors themselves, as they riff
LaserEy Firehead!

Okay, I usually have at least heard of these movies...........but never heard of this one.
But it is downloading now and will be watched on DVD tomorrow with the Jesse James iRiff. Better pack up my fire cooled beer.
I can't pass on Mike and the Guys riffing on the movie, I don't care what it is. I went through "The Apple" and "Dr. Who" I think this one will be cakewalk.
Buying it now.
Woo-hoo! They took my suggestion (http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php?topic=25668.msg743768#msg743768)! :) (maybe)

Oh, it's all about YOU, isn't it.... good job, btw.
I'm actually really liking this one alot. Kevin's prolonged song is excellent. I keep waiting for a Bim's On The Way joke with these triangle stickers, there are 21 minutes left.
Considering they had already riffed Future Force and Future Zone, which are on the same 4-DVD boxed set as Firehead, it probably wasn't me.
But I'll take credit anyway! ;)
That was fun. Who knew that members of the highest levels of government used basements, storage lockers and municipal hallways as their bases of operations.
FINALLY, a use for my 8 of Chris Lemmon card.
Interesting choice. Did you guys perchance acquire a copy of this DVD (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1411940864/tt0099577?ref_=tt_ov_i) in the past year?
An early 90's action-er? Not my favorite genre, but I'll bite.
I always bite.

I bite most of the time these days.
I doubt there will ever be a VOD I won't pick up - I love em!
"What's the name of that movie you saw, Paul?" "Firehead, Dave." "Fi-Yur-Hed. I see." "Firehead." "Yes."
I'll pick this up this weekend. Three days off, BOO-YAH!! I might pick up the new Iriffs, too. What the hell, BUY ALL THE RIFFS!!!
It's a very MST3K-style selection, like even more so than a lot of what we've been seeing lately. But that's not a bad thing. I could very easily see this movie being chosen during the Sci-Fi years. It's got that strange, early 90s/late 80s, FutureWar vibe to it. ...without the dinosaurs, of course.
Sometimes it's hard to find menu music. Times like this, it's almost too easy.
Not seen this one. But have to say from the clip, Bill Corbett singing what happens is not that funny. Seems to be filler material to me.
What, no "FROM THE CREATORS OF SPACE MUTINY" crack?
I would like a shot-for-shot remake with Conan and Andy as 'Flaming C: The Movie'
Hey, a shout-out to my (and ScottotD's) home town in this riff.
"Shattered a car window in Perth, Australia." (I think that was the line)
:D
Thought I'd share these actual review blurbs of the unriffed movie (as found on Amazon.com). Makes you wonder what words were edited out by the ellipses:
"Firehead successfully combines the elements of Hunt for Red October and Batman...a winner." --Video Digest
"A timely political thriller in the tradition of The Package...A must see." --Twice Magazine
"A star-studded cast...director Peter Yuval displays a strong visual sense...don't miss this one." --Video Insider
Star-studded cast?! There was Christopher Plummer and then..... Poor Man's Wings Hauser?
You know, you haven't watched Firehead until you've watched it in the original Klingon.

Bach-tach-tach-bech! HAHAHAHAHA!
The scene where Lemon and Firehead get in the main building and, er, overpower the guys with guns HAD to reshot eventually, right?
I had to watch it three times to get past the scene without laughing.
I have to say, I can rationalize almost any title in my head. I even rationalized that the creators of Future War were somehow implying that Sister Mary Despair (who was quite probably the single worst actress in any MST3k movie of all of them. Even the Werewolf actors who probably didn't know the meaning of all the words and phrases they were emitting ("OH-vair MAI-ded BAH-dee [Over my dead body]" was my favorite of those) were at least something besides annoyed or somewhat-less-annoyed-mixed-with-shampoo-commercial-bemused some of the time) was the John Brown of the Tool-People (to paraphrase a great Mole People riff) and that she started a sort of war between the Trackers and the extremely-unlikely Gang Members (I guess it's possible that assistant librarians have rumbles and call the Library of Congress prefixes of which they are personally in charge, their "turf," but I doubt it), for the freedom of the Tool-People, which is sort of a War. And the war is against people using weapons and flesh that come from the future. And it's definitely the future to the dinosaurs, who are really only evolved for the Jurassic Period (and were also probably shocked to find that they were made of rubber, probably alongside Triumph, the Insult-Comic Dog).
But Firehead? No. Sorry. Nuclear fission is not fire. Fire is rapid oxidation. "Firehead" is maybe a semi-mean nickname for a ginger. It isn't something you call a telekinetic cyborg who shoots lasers from his eyes. Because lasers are not "fire," either. They are beams of light, a band on the spectrum of radioactive energy that can be seen when it is reflected by something solid, as a point, because they have been rendered coherent and orderly by human technology.
Does he cause fires? Yes. But so did Carrie. Carrie was not called Firestarter, though, because she started that last, apocalyptic prom-fire by getting water and electric cables together to make sparks on a wooden floor with plenty of crepe-paper and flammable-stage-curtain kindling. Firestarter started fires.
And neither one was...
Well, I guess what I'm saying is, if you have the command of the English language necessary to write "[EVIL HORRIBLE SOMETIMES-BRITISH GUY zips up FLY and extends his hand to EGG-SHAPED NEBBISH WHO COULDN'T GET A JOB AS A SHOE SALESMAN BECAUSE YOU NEED MORE CHARISMA THAN THAT TO SELL SHOES]" (or something to that effect), you also know English well enough to know that you are purposely telling people not to even pick up your movie for distribution, much less pay to see it, if you call it "Firehead." Expecially if the guy's powers are not the proximate cause of any actual fires, nor is the guy's head made of fire in any way.
The internet around here in Mexico is all shitty DSL modems so I won't be able to get this one till I return to the states July 1 :-[
Just call Firehead and he will smash some DSL up
