Do you think it will warrant one? It might be an entirely different kind of "bad movie." I don't see these guys pulling off metahumor very well...
I think it kind of depends on how the movie itself is recieved. Birdemic was bad, plus it gained cult status on its own, so it made a great target. Too me it seems like making a sequel built on the "success" of a movie like this is just a recipie for forgettable crap.
I think this will go by riff-less just like Hobgoblins 2 did. It's Riff-bait, best to move on.
Could be wrong, we'll see.

Oh wow. It never occurred to me that Hobgoblins 2 was riff-bait. I thought it was Rick Sloane trying to make a buck and relive some glory.
"So, director of this movie, Rick Sloane, are you, in fact, a total idiot? (Say yes.)"
"Yes, yes, I am an idiot, that is correct."
I think the Birdemic.... "franchise" is too self-aware at this point for the sequel to be riffable. The first movie was "naturally bad" because James Nguyen was honestly trying to make a movie. But in the aftermath of the selected distributor it's since been presented and sold as a "bad movie. " Between a version of the release coming with a coat hanger and agreeing to the RTLive! event. The movie "knows" it's a bad movie now. So the sequel will likely try and to capitalize off of that and be intentionally making a bad movie. Which may not be as riffable.

Back before the release of the film on DVD, I saw a number of critics arguing that Birdemic was also too bad to have been made that way accidentally.
Personally, I'd wait until the movie was out before calling for a riff of it.
There's so much wrong with Birdemic it would take genius-level intelligence to make it so "purposefully bad."
It makes no sense that Birdemic was made intentionally bad. It's like the bullshit notion The Room was made intentionally bad. There's no way these brain-geniuses can pull that off, other than the fact that they so obviously thought they were making Casablanca or Gone with the Wind or the goddamn Ten mother fucking Commandments.
