I'll rank this later 8)
I've already got a feeling this is going to be a 9 or a 10 for me.
It was good, several sections were killers, but it did lag in some spots, so 9 instead of 10.
I went 9. The movie itself was hard to watch as I've never seen it, only seen clips and the Nostalgia Critic take on it.
But it was funny and the guys were in good form. (And was it me or were there no Nick Nolte jokes?!)
I gave it an 8. A very solid riff and really the type of movie that should be riffed. If this is the future of RiffTrax then I am sold. The HD option is great. Although with the amount of titles coming out I hope they someday institute a subscription service for the site!
Oh my GOSH. This movie has been in my peripheral forever and I always assumed it was a sort of Purple Rain kind of deal. And it IS, but there was SOOOO much more '90s-brand stupid. The riffs kept me laughing the whole time. My sides hurt.
I watch everything eventually. This was bought and transferred to my WDTV and viewed immediately! Will probably watch it again tomorrow!
HOLY HELL!! WTF did I just watch ???
a 10! Thank you RiffTrax for helping me get through this POS! :speechless:
8.5 = This is one stupid, stupid film. I was around when Vanilla Ice was huge, and remember ads and the reviews for this film ("Drop that zero and git wit da hero" really was in the trailer, which probably sealed the film's fate). I've been hoping for someone with MST to take this on and it's finally happened.
The Riffing is largely a success, maybe a little crass (the bleeped jokes just don't work over the top of the title card), but the spot-on early 90s jokes are perfect. Man, this was a strange time to be alive...
I'm only commenting because I like the thread title. :)
It was funny. Good riffing, despite a bit of clunkers, and the movie is rage-inducing. Why are there so many random scenes of Ice and Kathy just walking and NOT DOING ANYTHING???
Overall a solid outing. 7/10

Kathy wanted to take him where the fish lived, but Vanilla didn't understand the concept of "fish."
I could not stop saying "Yep! Yep!" today at work.
By not buying the VODs you've really been missing out as of late.
A 10? Yep yep. One of the funniest riffs yet. And it's hard to think of a film more deserving of the Rifftrax treatment.
Gave it a 9. As some have noted some weak spots but still the best riff in a few.
The scene where Ice Baby terrorizes, I mean romances, the underage girl in her bedroom (really, that's what happened, right?) was particularly hilarious (I like the passing Prince on his motorcycle bit that soon follows too) in the riffing. That alone pumps up the volume to 9.
Well, to be fair. she wasn't underage. If she was a graduating senior recently named valedictorian then she was likely 18 or very close to it. Still, it's sort of creepy that our mid-20s aged "hero" wanted to knock boots with her. Sorry, "making the sex" with her.
What the hell was with that? Was that a plot-point Vanilla wanted in the movie? For the girl to be 18? I mean did her being high-school serve anything to the story other than adding an "Ew!" Factor? She could've been a college-aged girl going to a local community college or something and still living at home keeping the father's control over her life.
You are putting way more thought into this movie than the writers and director and producers did.

If it makes you feel any better, the actress that played this high school senior was 26 at the time the movie was made.
Also, lol @ the graph looking like it's giving us the finger.
Oh, I knew the girl was older (she looked nowhere near 18) but in the story she was supposed to be 18 and our "hero" was lusting after her which is creepy.
Only 26? (still doesn't explain the mom jeans)
It was the 90s. Not a good era for jeans.
I gave this a 7.5, rounding it up to 8. It's not "I hafta show everybody in the world this" 10 nor "I gotta tell all my friends about this" 9. But it's something I appreciated a LOT. My nostalgia and the choice of title bumps it up to 8.
Solid with some great jokes that got applause from me, but not beginning-to-end stupendous.
And the HD option was an awesome bonus! I literally exclaimed "Oh my gosh! Janusz Kasiminski" (the director of photography) when his credit appeared. As bad as the movie is, I knew it'd be gorgeous to look at, and the HD really helped that. Also, it explains why the movie looks like a commercial (as pointed out during the construction scene).
Just an 8, but I still liked this riff a lot. And yeah, this movie looks fairly good in parts, though it's clear they are making a Do the Right Thing for kids movie, which makes for serious riffability.
"Do the Right Thing for kids movie" is a great description.
