Big news or cruel tease?

First off, how did I not know Matt was on Twitter? *follows*
Second off, well, if the last update is any indication, I look forward to two pretty good sbemails followed by two more years of silence!
He's been working on the Aquabats Supershow as well. One episode last season had a carnival villain (named Carl) who looked & sounded like Strongbad.
OF COURSE IT WOULD BE TODAY. http://homestarrunner.com
I can't expect this to be a permanent return. I can't expect that.
But man, do I hope that.
The headline's the important thing, but the full podcast is worth a listen: http://www.theverge.com/2014/7/9/5884841/homestar-runner-creator-says-hes-bringing-his-internet-cartoon-back
Well, well, well! Look who's testing the Twitter/YouTube waters!
https://twitter.com/StrongBadActual
(I wasn't 100% sure for a while if that twitter feed was official, but Matt's friend and colleague Alex Hirsch endorsed it, so it seems legit!)

I love Alex Hirsch.
New one, ya'll!

Lots of fun extras in this one.
Oh, and if I had to guess the silhouettes for this year. Here are some guesses I have for some:
Strong Mad - OK, his pony tail gives some clues. I'm going to say Shazzan, the Genie from the Hanna Barbera cartoons.
The Cheat - This one is driving me nuts, as his shadow has the most detail. OK, someone with a ray gun and short spikey hair. I feel like I should know it.
Marzipan - I think she might be the Mecha-Maid from Spaceballs... except she doesn't have a point crown. Is there another famous vacuum user?
the KoT looks like he might be in samurai armor. The cables and wires samurai from Brazil, perhaps?
I'm taking Strong Mad in another direction and saying he's Earthworm Jim.
BEST COSTUME LINEUP EVER. http://www.homestarrunner.com/ween14.html
Also on the YouTubes!
Seriously, all of this year's costumes were amazing.
I loved those old Mac Tonight commercials back in the 80s!
The Cheat as Spaceman Spiff is way awesome (I also like the addition of Dungeon Master).
April Fools, you've just been tricked into watching a great cartoon.

Flash is Dead!
http://www.homestarrunner.com/flashisdead.html
Yeah...holy crap is right. How do you update everything on that site into anything OTHER than Flash? That's quite the pickle.
Is this a real thing? Is Flash losing its Adobe support or something?
There was a story not too long ago where Flash had yet another security breach. After that happened, all hell broke loose and the top people of Facebook, Firefox (well, sort of...they disabled it by default until the user updated Flash) and a bunch of other places (can't remember them all) said, "It's time that Flash must go! For the good of the people!" So, yes, a bunch of top drawer executives said Flash must go, so it must go. Because HTML5 is absolutely perfect now and will never, ever have security vulnerabilities at any time. Nevermind that a lot of places like Homestar Runner and Newgrounds now have to very quickly do a LOT of work before their content is rendered unusable on browsers.
I really don't have any issues with Flash one way or the other, but it sounds a little harsh to tell a company that their long-standing and somewhat still popular medium is a blight on the community and must be destroyed, even if it has issues. And if it means harming Homestar Runner and its years of interactive tomfoolery, I'm more than a little perturbed at the blanket attack.

And the cartoon is up today! (http://www.homestarrunner.com/ween15.html) Haven't watched it yet, but it's still good to see new stuff.
As you might expect, it's good.
Right on, my doge.
Ween toon time!

I think everyone here will especially appreciate Homestar's costume this year.
Yeah, this was a pretty good one. Always a treat to see a new Homestar cartoon.
Every time I see a new Homestar Runner, it reminds me of being in college, having a break between classes, and spending a couple of minutes have a nice, quiet chuckle at the latest cartoon.
I know the guys are busy with other projects, but it's amazing how big a smile these cartoons can put on your face. I wish they had the time to bring it back in full force, but even these little treats are always welcome.
Anyone up for a Let's Play?
Strong Bad teaches you how to draw a sammich! (https://twitter.com/StrongBadActual/status/885302124732665856)
And shows you a new app (https://twitter.com/StrongBadActual/status/887015173604728832)!

This might be the best one they've done in quite a while.
Six-syllable catch phrase!
The Santaman is the hardest I laughed at Homestar in a long time. Not a slight on Homestar, I just mean it was a great gag.
Also "Who's fabear?"
Merry Christmas! It's a free live album of Limozeen songs for download!

My two favorite bits were...
"Action!" as they are entering the factory.
Homestar sitting in a parked car as a hand behind it waves a branch to make it look like he's driving.

Hey, they actually decided that they are going to release another level of the Stinkoman game.
Fingers crossed now for Peasant's Quest 2!
The April Fools thing!
April Fools, it's actually.
a regular Strong Bad e-mail. And a good one, too.
Robot Chicken did a Homestar Runner themed sketch, and it is truly, truly terrible. I don't know why I am mentioning it here. This post borders on trolling because of how bad it is.
Gonna remote link because embedding might trick someone into thinking it is a quality Homestar cartoon.
You have been warned. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34w4KBBQ0_w)

It generally kind of goes without saying.

I thought the show was pretty good for the first 3 or 4 seasons, but then it really went downhill fast. They're up to season 9, and now the punch line for virtually every sketch is either sex or gory violence. Sometimes poop is involved.
Way back in the day, I used to be a big fan of Twisted Toyfare Theatre, which was a photocomic created in Toyfare Magazine which was the inspiration for Robot Chicken. I was pretty excited for the show, but when it came on, I found the show's actual humour pretty weak. Though, I feel like a lot of Twisted Toyfare Theatre wouldn't hold up well for me either.
There are things that I still find funny on Robot Chicken, but I've only seen earlier episodes.
However, upon seeing this, I am reminded of the words of a great philosopher...
"Man, never show a good movie in the middle of your crappy movie."
Put in my cash towards the Trogdor board game kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1999933720/trogdor-the-board-game).
That is mighty tempting...
The Kickstarter is at over 16.5K backers and over $1 million! I haven't seen a kickstarter rack up this much money in years!

I don't understand why people back Kickstarter projects. Why not just wait for the product to come out and pay regular retail price for it?
Because they don't all get kickstarted?
Pretty much exactly. So many things have come through Kickstarter that I've wanted for years but that big companies always assumed nobody wanted. Kickstarter lets you vote with your wallet.
I also have kind of a weakness for nifty pre-order trinkets that won't be available otherwise.
New Homestar Halloween toon.
The Chapman brothers have given us almost all of us their original Homestar Runner songs to listen to on Spotify, YouTube, and iTunes (if you want to purchase them)! https://nerdist.com/article/homestar-runner-180-original-songs/
