Indeed, that was the best recurring observation about the movie. The guy must have made BILLIONS in dumping nuclear waste, such that he can be so obsessed about somebody else's revenge. And for that matter, I don't understand how losing one tournament caused the instructor to go from Killer Successful Brand-name Instructor to unemployed bum in so short a time.
Might have something to do with the fact that he went psycho and almost killed one of his students out in the parking lot in front of his other students.
