Concerned about accidental plagiarism in the Reefer Madness Contest, I checked my copy of the Legend Films DVD to see if Mike Nelson's previous commentary related in any way to the ten chosen contest clips.
There were only two instances---
Clip #1 - Ralph: "...Faster!"
Mike Nelson: This guy has some issues. There's no doubt about it.
Clip #9 - Billy: "...and you're there beside me."
Mike Nelson: And Mary maps out her escape route.
I also discovered two new facts about the film---
When the pistol went off during Jack and Billy's tussle, it was pointing down at the carpet. The bullet could not have possibly struck Mary in her left shoulder blade. I suspect that a second shot was fired by the Continuity Girl to avoid a re-take of the scene.
In the clip where the newspaper headline announces----
HARPER VERDICT EXPECTED TONIGHT
Check out the item right below it---- DICK TRACY, G-MAN, IN SENSATIONAL RAID / "Trigger" Stark Killed.
I heartily recommend buying or renting the Legend Films DVD edition of 'Reefer Madness'. It's both entertaining and educational.
Especially if you play the disc real fast... faster... Faster... FASTER!
But what about the 3-riffer version?
(I'll get it...someday....although now I might wait for this live version to hit DVD)
Oh, I wish I had see this sooner. Thank you for sharing. But yeah, what about the three riffer edition? I guess it doesn't really matter now.
