Paramount has hired screenwriter Michael R. Perry to create the follow-up and is planning an October 22, 2010 release. Oren Peli, the director of the first film, will serve as a producer for the sequel.[41] Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, was initially hired to direct the sequel. However Lionsgate Films have since exercised a clause in Greutert's contract to have him direct the next film in the Saw franchise. No director is currently attached to Paranormal Activity 2.
:speechless:
I hope its even paranormaler than the first!
Hopefully it will be better than the lamented "Blair Witch 2".

I hope it's at least as good as The Rage: Carrie 2. Exploding murdery eyeglasses? Sold.

If they do title it "Paranormaler Activity" I'd buy a ticket right now.
Heck, I'd do it for "Paranormal Activity 2: Through the Portals of Time" as well.
2 Paranormal 2 Active
Paranormal Activity Reloaded: The Revenge
This time it's personal!
Paranormal Activity 2: Electric Boogaloo
It'll be a crossover with Ghostbusters 3.
Paranormal Activity Too: Return of the Boredom
Paranormal Activity: Havana Nights
Paranormal Activity: Port of Call New Orleans
Rambo: Paranormal Activity Part II
Micah Part 6
Paran2rmal Activity?
Paranormal Activity Legacy?
The Lost World: Paranormal Activity?
Paranormal Activity 2: The Snoring Intensifies
Well if this follows the Blair Witch precedent, the new one will be shot like any other horror movie, removing the handheld style. This will piss off fans of the original who wanted something like the first movie, and non-fans won't care because its a sequel to a movie they didn't care about to begin with.
Normal Activity
Para-anal Activity
The series goes XXX for no reason.
Paranormal in the Hood
followed of course by
Paranormal Back 2 the Hood.
Then the obligatory Paranormal Space Activity, and possibly a wild west themed one.
Paranormal 2: The Apology*
*Not to be confused with Paranormal 2: The Refund...which never made it out of development.
Paraporno Activity: Fondeling your sheets as you sleep throughout the night :speechless:
They should film a prospective Paranormal Activity movie inside Waverly Hills. Google it. It's a legitimately haunted TB Clinic/Sanitarium that's been closed down. It's a historic site which is being restored to its former glory.
Paranormal Activity 2: This time, Something Actually Happens! Nah We're Just Kidding
Kind of a long title, but they're going with it.
I want the next movie to be a comedy starring the TAPS crew from Ghost Hunters. Perhaps with cameos from Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson.

Nah. I want the crew of the GhostFacers (http://www.ghostfacers.com/) in on the next one.
Paranormal Activity 2: The Squeakquel
Paranormal Activity 2: The New Batch
Paranormal Activity 2: Requiem
Paranormal Activity 2: Urban Harvest
Paranormal Activity 2: Assignment Miami Beach
And so on
This according to MTV Movies Blog (http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2010/02/25/paranormal-activity-2-to-be-helmed-by-brian-de-palma/):
Quote'Paranormal Activity 2' To Be Helmed By... Brian De Palma?!

<snip>
As you might expect, there will be a sequel. Of course there will be. "Paranormal Activity 2" has been the subject of some discussion in recent months. Original director Oren Peli will not return. "Saw VI" director Kevin Greutert was at one point set to do it, but he was ultimately shuffled back to work on "Saw VII" instead. Now there are three other names in contention for the gig, including -- oddly -- none other than Brian De Palma.
The Los Angeles Times reports that three directors are currently being considered by Paramount, and that De Palma is among them. If you don't know that name, then it's time to turn in your movie lover ID card. Let's play the name-check game. "Scarface." "Carrie." "The Untouchables." "Dressed to Kill." "The Bonfire of the Vanities." "Carlito's Way." "Mission: Impossible." You get it? Pretty serious.
If this could keep him from making that ill-advised re-do of
Phantom of the Paradise....I'm all for it.
And they mention
The Bonfire of the Vanities like it's a good thing? How about
Snake Eyes then? ::)

(in an old prospector voice): "This shit is gooolden I tells yeh! Goooooooolden!"
Part 2 should be the same story, but from the perspective of the demon, who's constantly pestered by Micah until he's finally driven to possess Katie and murder him.
I can't believe no one came up with Extracurricular Activity.

If it was just those 30 odd seconds of off-camera footage of possessed Katie beating the crap out of Micah at the end of the movie, I would give this movie all the Oscars.
Oh my, I hope this sequel gets a rifftrax. I'd watch it, but not without a rifftrax. ;)
(What, Katie is hot and stuff)
Fakeboring Nightvisioncrap 2
lmao
And coming into this thread almost 4 years after it's creation, they have, what, at least 3 sequels.
I only saw the first one, with Rifftrax, at a friends house. So, did they stay boringly inactive?
They're pretty much indistinguishable from eachother, except for one that's a prequel, so it uses older cameras.

Yeah. The thread title is novel after all those sequels.
