Where was the part where Kirk, Spock, and Uhura travel the galaxy searching for the Dragon Balls so they could wish back the planet Vulcan?
Chapter? That could be a whole other movie. I'll bet all the Vulcans mind melded with each other to preserve their collective mind and are waiting patiently in the singularity waiting for someone to get them the hell out. Either that or JJ Abrams did not feel comfortable having people walking around in his Star Trek universe who at any moment could be saying "This is not Logical" for any number of reasons.
i'm pretty certain that all they need to do is destroy the death star and save the hostages from hans gruber and vulcan will magically pop back into existence.
