A Solid 9
Many Funny lines including 'SPOOOOOOOCK...' :D :D :D
Sorry guys, have to give this one an 8.
I gave it a 9 as well...
One thing tempted me to drop it to an 8. I felt really bad for the kid who played Chekov.... I know they've always hated Chekov, but this movie was the first time I ever actually LIKED the character and the actor playing him.
Not just an issue I had with the RIFF or the RIFFERS though, as I've argued for this actor since the movie came out.... I've had several people argue with me that his accent was too over the top and that Walter K's accent was more realistic........... Anton Yelchin was born in Leningrad. Sure, he came to the US when he was a baby, but I am VERY sure he grew up hearing a lot of Russian and Russian-accented English. My best friend is Polish, and he speaks fluent Polish despite being raised in the US, so I don't doubt that Yelchin's accent is far more acurate than we would think.
But that's just my rant, done with that.... Hillarious riff, 9 out of 10!!!
i gave it a 10, i was laughing the whole time :highfive:
M'eh. Not their best, I wasn't laughing. The sharp wit I heard for Titanic was missing.
A lowley 3 from me.
I'm gonna go with a 6 on this one.

I'd like to throw on top of that, that the guys ragged on Simon Pegg about his accent... the man's British. His natural accent is actually pretty close to that.
I laughed a few times throughout the riff, but I'd give it about a 7. Just not quite up to the level of their other riffs. Good, though, don't get me wrong.

There's actually a bit of talk about this in the special features, where they mention that Yelchin is fluent in Russian, and when they were working on the character he did bring up things like "A man with a Russian accent wouldn't actually displace Ws and Vs like that" and so forth, but they found a balance between accurate Russian accents and "Hollywood Russian" since the Chekov mannerisms are so well established.
I'm somewhere between an 8 and a 9 on this one, I'll try and decide soon and put in my vote.
It was kind of giving me Star Trek 1 flashbacks at the beginning when Bill pointed out the space sphincter. :speechless:

Pegg's wife is Scottish too, as was one of the assistant directors. He had help with his accent.
8/10 for me
Initially I was thinking 6/10, but it grew on me after repeated viewings. Plus, I was sober the first time I watched it (big mistake). I NEVER normally watch these sober. Still, nowhere near as good as Titanic (an easy 10/10, best since Twilight). After having watched Titanic at least 5 times in a row, I've been spoiled.
It had it's moments, but just didn't seem to pack the punch of even 'Transformers.'
I felt there were some moments that they passed up. Here are some that come to mind:
Nero: It has happened! I know it happened, I saw it happen, don't tell me it didn't happen!
Riff: I happen to know a great deal of when happening happens! Happen!
Computer: Ambassador Spock...you are on a collision course.
Riff: With wackiness?

And am I the only one who couldn't figure out why they were giving Karl Urban a hard time about
his accent....?
He did well as far as that goes and did a decent turn as McCoy, I thought.
Relieved to hear several of us are in agreement. Despite sporatic bouts of funniness, Star Trek was a lazy effort on the whole. (My least favorite Rifftrax thus far.)

I thought it was quite good when they kept to things that were ridiculous about the film (Old Spock and Kirk walking to the Starfleet outpost unmolested by CGI monsters, the outpost looking like a self-storage building, the Romulan ship being a repository for old Doctor Who sets, etc.)...
Just the going on about accents was....eh.
I finally got it downloaded and listened to. I love how they can do a movie I like and not take away from my enjoyment of the movie. My sides are hurting. Baby Shatner was great.

Yeah, I can never watch the movie without saying something at that point, always shouted in that same goofy voice, and typically some combination of "happen" or "happy" and other words that rhyme or sound like it when you shout/slur them. That line is just too over the top to ignore.
Defiantly a solid 9. It was very funny!
I'll give it an 7, the constant ripping on the accents bugged me. Sometimes they just don't know when to let go of a joke. Like how they kept making 'man' jokes about Sister Beech in Wicker Man.
Did anyone notice that one of the officers watching during the Kobiyashi Maru was the guy who played Stu in Drag me to Hell? Every time they showed him I wanted to go, 'squinch squinch!'
