Since I know not a lot of people cruise the iriffs section of the forum or the main site I thought I'd start a thread where all the iriffers have also riffed Twilight can put links to their product pages and viewers can comment on the one's they've watched. May as well get the most bang for your buck on the DVD rental of this horrible movie. Anyway, here's mine.(https://forum.rifftrax.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi44.tinypic.com%2F2nv6pkw.jpg&hash=01f3fa0d794a056126545dc81d91dc00f1177bb9)
Product description-
There are many riffs of Twilight but this one is mine. And Twilight ain't your parents vampire movie. In fact, some may argue that it's not a vampire movie at all. It could be viewed as "The most epic Romance since Titanic"-according to Hollywood.com or it could be viewed as an instructional video for those want to make the ability to win a staring contest into a career. Then again, it could be both.
And this time Raven's Riffs has a female touch as Chris is joined by his fiance Amanda and their friend Kate. So get ready to be teleported back to high school, although I don't remember it being like this. But then again, I was asleep a lot of the time.
For a chance to win free riffs from me in the future, post a comment (good or bad) on this product page. When I release my next riff, I'll select one name from those who leave feedback and send them the new release free of charge. (I'm not promising any release dates, or titles but I do promise to keep making riffs.) Thanks for checking it out. NTSC and PAL available (PAL has not been tested, please let me know if you check it out and have any problems)

I've never purchased any iRiff before, but I plan to start with this movie. I did watch the sample for one of the iRiffs (may have been yours, assuming yours was the Spider Monkey one), and I liked it, so it seems like a good idea.
The "spider monkey" one was us! Hi-ya! We're Ice on Mars, and our Twilight riff ... umm ... also exists!

Here's our shameless plug:
If you think back, I'm sure we all can remember a time that we were an innocent, naive 13-year-old girl who wanted nothing more than for the cute older boy in our class to look our way and realize how special we were beneath our clumsy exterior. For most of us, the story ended with us realizing that the older boy in our class was held back because he'd huffed so much paint he couldn't spell his name without entering a trance-like state, and us realizing we were young men from the Midwest randomly dreaming of older men in a society more stringent than that portrayed in Brokeback Mountain when it came to such things. For Stephanie Meyer, however, she takes this premise, makes the boy a sparkling vampire who doesn't kill humans, and Mary Sues herselfright into the midst of things.
Whether you love it or hate it, there's certainly no denying that Twilight exists. So whether you're a Twi-hater, the boyfriend, husband, father or some other relation to a Twi-lover and you're sick of it and just want something to deaden the vapid silences rampant in this film (you can throw it on an MP3 player & enjoy the film in your own special way!), OR you're a Twi-lover and want to use this as an excuse to show it to friends ('no, no, this makes fun of it!' but secretly you're hoping the magic will sweep them away despite all the silly voices...), this is the Riff for you!
This is the first Ice on Mars product not written solely by Michael T Bradley, and as such is a huge experiment that we all feel turned out really well. Please check out the sample and also find me on YouTube (user: zenmichael) for other samples from this & other products we have available.
Twilight was co-written and co-riffed by: Michael T* Bradley, Kaisha "Time & Again" Medford and Josh "Human Beasts" Robinson. Enjoy, and don't forget to leave feedback and comments!
As always, we're not supported or endorsed in any way by NASA, but my mom still thinks I'm funny.

Hmmmm...good idea, this, Raven. It'll make things easier.
Keeping to the sample, some may say it's just the halfway point that youtube decided to highlight, I say there is the proof that this movie really is gay. Don't fight it, Movie. You know you are, and while Ms. California may or may not have something to say about it, stop insulting our intelligence by insisting you're not.

That was my favorite part about this clip when it loaded on youtube. This pic is hilarious.
Good sample, Raven!
I'm not generally much of a critic. I usually subscribe to the idea of "I'm no critic, but I know what I like." However, with the release of the official Rifftrax for Twilight, my special rule on iRiffs came into play: if an iRiff is released of a movie that also has an official Rifftrax or Rifftrax Presents commentary, I have to buy that iRiff and integrate it into my menu. Such was the case with Jurassic Park, The Happening (both with riffs by Quiptracks), Star Wars Episode IV (riff by Blame Society), and Die Hard (riff by Riff Raff Theater). It was this that led me to watch Twilight with iRiffs by Raven's Riffs, Ice on Mars, and Celluloid Shinobis. What follows is my best attempt at a review of each of those, as well as a review of the official Rifftrax.
I'll say that an iRiff is going to have to work harder to get my laugh. When I listen to a regular Rifftrax, I'm already predisposed to laugh because the riffers Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett. But I kept an open mind.
Raven's Riff
I thought that, among the three iRiffs, this one was the best. I thought the sound quality was good; I could hear the riffers clearly without much alteration to the track (I think I may have amplified it, that's all). Hard to remember my favorite lines (this is a problem with regular Rifftrax too), but here are a few.
"A town of 3000 in the center of Washington state has the diversity of Tatooine?"
"I think he needs a chillaxative."
"Is that a vampire bat?"
All in all, I find it on par in both audio quality and content quality with a regular Rifftrax.
Ice on Mars
A decent effort, but the audio quality was pretty crummy. It sounded like they were recording in a bathroom. That really pulled me out of the experience. Like, a good riff with good sound quality sounds like an episode of MST3K, and it sounds like something you could watch on regular TV. This one, because the audio was so rough, reminded me that it was someone's hobby, and made it difficult for me to find the riffs amusing.
That said, I do think the riffs were good. I can't remember any off the top of my head, but it produced a few good guffaws. There was a really funny run over the end credits, where one of the guys was (ostensibly) talking to his fangirl niece. He was trying to carry on a serious dialogue, she was squeeing over the movie.
Near the end, I'm thinking around the part where James starts hunting Bella, the riffs started to seem a little forced; like they were struggling to fill up the space and consequently added too many low quality riffs.
I would say, good effort, and worth the $2.00 if you feel a lot of animosity toward Twilight, and love schadenfreude.
Celluloid Shinobis
Pretty awful, in my opinion. As the product page says "This Riff was performed Live and off the Cuff from beginning to end. " and you can tell. While it produced a couple good parts (I particularly liked the scene with Edward and Bella sitting high up in a tree overlooking the river below the mountain, and one guy saying "this is where the fish lives"), it mainly comprised a lot of insulting the movie instead of riffing it. Of course I'm not offended by insulting movies, but I don't think it produces particularly funny results.
First of all, the audio quality was awful. Secondly, the riffs were often borrowed from MST3K and didn't make a lot of sense. There was one particular run, in the scene where Edward reveals to Bella that he is a vampire, that they start discussing how vampires (broody, pale skinned, sparkling in the sunlight), are similar to Packers fans. That doesn't really make any sense, as none of these qualities are traditionally associated with football fans of any stripe, and when the guys on MST3K made jokes about Packers fans, they were always about them being slow witted, overweight, and impulsive. The Celluloid Shinobis seemed to be copying a joke that didn't fit at all.
Beyond that, they went to the same lame jokes of "this movie sucks", "end movie, end!", and "I'm going to kill myself to get out of this" that have never been funny and were often the bane of some of the weaker Rifftrax (I'm looking at YOU Phantom Menace Rifftrax).
I'd avoid this one. Bad riffing, bad audio quality, a lot of strong language. Josh Way say that Bill Corbett frequently tells contributing writers that the purpose of a good riff is to be funny, not to savage the movie. It seemed like these guys, besides making the mistake of trying to improvise, were just going to the tactic of savaging a movie.
Official Rifftrax with Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett
Very much the best of all four, but you expected that. These guys just have more experience, more time, and better equipment. I found that they did a good job of joking about a less appealing movie without being outright insulting. One of my favorite riffs had to be Bill's little Baconator advertisement. Definitely worth the 4 bucks.
The movie itself
Kinda cheesy, standard chick flick fare. I was displeased at the author basically using vampires to tell a romance story, but then completely changing them into something wussified. The romance seemed artificial and forced; I can't figure out what in God's name Bella saw in Edward. Not a good movie, but not a terrible movie. I guess if I'd been exposed to more of the hype, I'd have generated more animosity, but this movie never really registered on my radar.
Final thoughts
So these range from good to bad. Celluloid Shinobis is a waste of time and money. Raven's Riffs is great, and almost on par with an official Rifftrax. Ice on Mars is somewhere in between.
And of course, the official Rifftrax, you are honor bound to get. Mike, Kevin, and Bill do great work as always.

Thanks a bunch for the review, as unexcited as you were about the riff itself. I've posted this in other places, but I'll mention it here, too (slightly altered to fit the response better)
Since you're now the 4th person who's said dispariging things about the audio (which is weird, since it sounds nigh perfect on the 3 setups i've listened to it on), I decided to tinker with the file a little bit. I've now replaced the file. If you've bought ours but haven't listened to it yet, you might want to re-download it & test out the newer, hopefully improved version. The new version is called IoMTwiRiffNTSC.zip as apposed to IoMTwilightNTSC.zip (if you've bought our riff, it should show up as an available file to dl on the product page).
I doubt you want to re-listen right away, but that's out there for the people who either have bought it & haven't listened yet, or who are thinking of buying it. Again, thanks for the review. I'm sorry you didn't love it, but it does mean a lot you took time to give some feedback, and I understand where you're coming from about having difficulty reviewing things. Mostly myself I just hate sounding haughty. If I'm reviewing something I don't do myself, I have no problem; but reviewing an iRiff, it just feels like I'm being like, 'well I'M perfect, so you should listen to me! nyah!' and i hate that.

Yeah, I forgot to give you credit for fixing the sound levels, but I'd listened to this last week and typed up part of the review yesterday.
I dunno if I got the point across, but I found it was good for an amateur effort. I compare everything against the gold standard of official Rifftrax. Someone less inclined to do so would like this more.
In summary, stop being so good natured about criticism. Isaac it up a bit!

Just not my thing. As you can probably guess, I disagree w/some of your conclusions, but /shrug/ pretty much all art is subjective. It's odd. When I first started posting on here, I really assumed that all of us on these boards would have similar senses of humor since MST3K is such a ... niche form of humor, in my opinion. (Like, the people I know who got it LOVED it, and there were some who just stared at the screen like dogs being shown a poker trick). But I've found, much to my dismay, that many of us have WILDLY varying senses of humor (there are some iRiffs I've seen good reviews of that I haven't been able to make it through I thought they were so bad--and some of those were shorts!). Still, you do what you can & hope you find an audience, I suppose.
And of course the official Rifftrax guys have the whole 'decade of writing together & being known for this sort of thing' on their side. I mean, obviously they've put in a LOT of blood sweat & tears to be as good as they are, i'm not writing that off. but all we can do is try to put in the same efforts and hope to one day catch up to them (I was excited to notice that the Rifftrax sample has four fairly identical jokes to ones we did in that scene. Makes me assume I'm doing something right).
So, yeah, we're amateurs. /shrug/ I don't see that as insulting or whatever, so I'm not going to "Isaac it up" over it. I'm just glad at least some people are finding us pretty damn funny amateurs :-\

I don't think people will get that from you unless you actually feel that way. People can tell when you think you're better than them, especially if you do a lot of reviews. If you're honest and real in your review and you don't think you're better than anyone else, most sane people will get where you're coming from. So I'd like to encourage you to start reviewing Iriffs you watch because you actually know what they went through to make it happen and your feedback could really help someone. If nothing else it's very motiving to get feedback. So you should do it, bro.

I do leave positive feedback. Negative feedback on iRiffs i find REALLY difficult, tho. basically any negative boils down to: 'it wasn't funny,' which isn't extremely helpful, I don't think (I did do one on the Harass Bastards' Lost City chapter since I was determined to leave feedback for every single chapter that wasn't mine, and they graciously said thanks, but I don't think it was very helpful. I see the positive feedback, however, as a way to excite people about an iRiff--definitely the QuipTracks' guys' comments helped our sales because they were INCREDIBLY kind in their reviews).

Whoa, I totally forgot until today that my company already did kind of a riff of Twilight in one of our side projects. We mock books instead of movies, but the concept's the same. Check it out if you want to. We mention Twilight about halfway through:
http://www.shadowdogproductions.com/episode%203.mp3
I have finally seen 3 of the Twilight Riffs ("the guys", Ice on Mars, and Raven's)
As a non-twilighter and a longtime MST-riff fan I give my full seal of approval to Ice on Mars and Raven, both did a great job and they each felt different enough to warrant purchases along with "the guys".
I will note that the guys had more laughs overall, but the energy ,the chemistry, and the fun of the Ice riff and Raven riff made for a fun time with this movie!!
PS: I have yet to notice these audio "issues" some mentioned on the early Ice recording (they went back and fixed any problems that may have been there, I purchased mine on 4/17/09 so maybe they had fixed it by then).
Regardless, for the money both Ice's and Raven's riffs are well worth it and I will be enjoying them again very soon.
Keep up the good works and thanks for the laughs :highfive:

Thanks for the kind words. It was pretty nerve-wracking finding out that "the guys" were doing a track we'd done. Fear and teeth gnashing abounded, because, you know, how can you even hope to compare with that? But thankfully everyone has seemed to enjoy the energy of both Raven's and our riffs. My goal is to be 2/3 as funny at half the price, and therefore a bargain! Yay economics! iRiffs: Karl Marx approved.
Some of my favorite lines are as follows:
From Raven -
Go fighting cutlery!!
You almost didn't make the sequels ,there is good money in these s**t movies
Oh great this whole thing is leading up to the prom, what kind of freakin vampire movie is this!?
Someone mentioned premarital sex to the author and she fainted
I like to stay up all night long, if ya know what i mean .........Warcraft
(Possible spoiler alert) Seriously he's a wolf, because vampires hate werewolves ,all of a sudden in the last 10 years.
Some of my favorite Ice riffs:
So their hair looks like this because they can't see themselves in mirrors .........right?
Don't worry you'll still be a virgin, techinically ............"now call me cedric" (haha go team Cedric!!)
I remember when vampires were scary
Is she stuck in a Final Fantasy 7 cut-scene
no no lead them to your home and don't warn your dad of the danger, that makes even more sense
I wonder how they explained away that HUMAN bite mark on her wrist!
Sorry if I am posting too much, I lost my accounting job and have mucho free time on my hands for now :violin:

I'll admit, I suck at self-promotion, but I guess I was hoping the three YouTube samples would work to sell it--I believe in the product selling itself. Also, being the featured iRiff for a while was, I assume, helpful. I still have yet to watch the official RT version, but from everything I've heard it sounds like people are, in general, enjoying all three of our riffs for very different reasons.
Absolutely! All three riffs are great! You already (presumably) own the stupid DVD, and all three riffs are very funny, so who wouldn't want to own all three?
Hey, who was talking about combining the best jokes from all three riffs? I can't find it now, and I don't want to miss checking this out if anyone ever finishes it. It's an awesome idea.
It was GregMcDuck but I never heard if he even watched all three yet.

Hmmmmm....Ice didn't get as high a review as Raven did (and he didn't sell his version as much) from another poster here, but, providing I still have a job through next week, you've convinced me to buy this version. Thank you, NYFalcon!
The Celluloid Shinobis one is awful. I haven't heard a soul who enjoyed that one.
