What happens when a public television studio realizes that it has to spend $2,000 of government grant money before Wednesday in order to qualify for full funding for the next fiscal year? You get Your Chance to Live: Technological Failures! Obviously thrown together in a matter of hours, Your Chance to Live rails against modern man's dependence on technology with the vibrant coherency of a raving street corner derelict. This may have something to do with the fact that the producers hired an actual street corner derelict to do the raving, or as they refer to it, the "narration." Among the pearls of wisdom he imparts along the way? "Without electricity, there could be no electrical fires." The point is emphasized by showing stock footage of "Pioneers" baling hay.
Surely, the producers of this film were on a higher plane of consciousness, or maybe just really wanted to get off work in time to catch the tail end of happy hour. The whole thing makes for an experience that is as surreal as it is hilarious. Mike, Kevin and Bill seize Their Chance to Riff!

I packed more on mine, so I have three complete short volumes, and then the last two.
I will download this tomorrow at work (will teach them for making me go to a 6am teleconference with India)
I just watched this on my BlackBerry and It's Friggin Hilarious :D :D
'Brown Out' :gouge:
Man!
My MPEG-2 download speed was over 80kb/sec when I started but has been losing speed for the last hour.. :scared:
Now at just over 60kb/sec >:(
Downloading now, this one looks great judging from the sample.
Hm, so I take it this new poster style is here to stay? It looks nice, but it doesn't have the personality of the older posters.
Lompoc is pronounced lompoke. Also I don't think you'd find many empty warehouses, it's not very industrial, mostly farmland filled with flowers.

Just for the shorts because they are usually done a whole bunch at a time. Feature posters will still have the wackiness that you crave.

Is Kevin indicating that Mike farted, or something?

It might have to do with .. 'Brown Outs' :speechless:
WHAT THE HELL WAS THE FRAKING POINT OF THIS FILM?!?!?
It was funny as hell though...... I had to stop the video several times during the whole "pioneer days" part.
I always think it's hilarious when people talk about pioneer days being "simpler times", especially when they are showing people working hard.

8? Quitter. I go 12 apiece on mine (http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,13340.0.html). I'm halfway through volume 3, and actually waiting for another even set of 12 to come out before I watch any more.

I guess that's good enough reason. I use Piobman's, which leave enough flexibility since you can type in your own episode list. I discovered, when doing this, that the Rifftrax font works well on covers, but it looks terrible in small size. I can barely read my episode list.
Between the wacky music, the deadpan narrator who rambled along nonchalantly as everything he touched fell to pieces, and the general pointlessness, this might just have been the best short ever. ;D

I agree. This one had be in stitches, and not just because I was laughing so hard that I fell through a closed window.
So, did anyone else notice that this short appears on two different shorts DVDs?
