Title: Problems with Downloaded DVD Files
Post by: gammer on November 25, 2008, 06:55:32 AM
Is it just me, or has anyone else had issues with the files that you get when you download the CT movies from EZ Takes?

Nero gives me an error saying that it couldn't sort the DVD files properly and if I burn the DVD using the EZ Takes software, it doesn't play properly in any of my 4 different brands of DVD players (it does play fine with software DVD players on computers though...).

As a work-a-round, I've had to rip just the movie and then re-author it (using custom menu's) to make it 100% compliant.

Can't you just burn those files as a data disc? I always thought that as long as your files are of the DVD-VIDEO variety and contain the necessary structure, you can just burn it as Data and most players will recognize it as video. Is that not correct?

Yeah, that's the way the DVD player see's it...as a data disc...and it will play the main movie if I select the first VOB file.

However the menu's don't work and the chapters are kind of screw-ha-ha.

I used Toast for mine with no problems.
