I have an ancient highway map (for the US, all major roads in the Continental States) that I keep in my car because I'm too cheap to buy a GPS. It's low tech, but effective; and most of the time if I'm going on a long road trip I'll get directions from MapQuest or somesuch. I'm not opposed to using a GPS, but I just see no reason to at the moment.

Skin care: moisturizers, sunscreen, refining mask, etc; how often do you use them, if ever?

Not enough, though I'll go through the aloe vera like craqzy if I get burned.  Also, a lot of chap stick.

Do you consider yourself a child of the 80's?

Yes I do.  (This thread really needs to come back)

Who's a writer you think is great, but you must admit you haven't read much from them (for me it's Vonnegut.  Only read two books and one anthology but MAN IS HE GOOD!)

David Foster Wallace.

I've only read a few of his short stories from his collection "Oblivion" and everything he writes is such an intense mind-f*** it's intimidating. Definitely not something you read while distracted. I have a copy of Infinite Jest sitting on my bookshelf, staring at me while I sleep, chasing me down in my dreams, that I plan on breaking open sometime after never.

What's one artistic skill (playing the piano, painting landscapes, making macaroni art, something like that) you wish you had?

Playing the piano is something that I thought could be really cool.  That or guitar.

What's the worst injury that you've accidentally inflicted on yourself?

No, it's a flat screen.

Why is Justin Bieber?

Because teenage girls need their spank material just as much as teenage boys do.

Worst party you've ever been to and why?

Hmm... I'm not much of a party guy, but I've been in a lot of situations were I had to follow directions to a party and eventually had to give up, or find it was called off or something.  I don't think anytime I'm at a party and have a bad time, it's not so much that it's a bad party, but it's that I'm not really comfortable there.  Been to a few good ones when I was writing for the student paper in University.

What are you up to tomorrow?

Drinking and cooking and listening to all the music I want to... because I kicked the wife out of the kitchen and am doing Thanksgiving dinner again solo with my buddies Jack Daniels and Jose Cuervo.

What is your greatest fear?

I'm terrified of heights. Also, deep water, because of crocodiles. It's completely and utterly irrational, but the very idea of something big and scaly and stealthy swimming beneath my feet scares the living f*** out of me.

What's your favorite naughty word and why?

Fuck because it's one of the most versatile words in the English language (and I say it all the time, I should really do a count to see how often I say it in a day). I also like the one beginning with C but only when a girl uses it and with the anatomical definition. I like girls who swear I do.

What's has the power to shock you?

Two things and they are both extremes: people who get way to into the holidays (or at least get into them way too early) and those who act all above it.  I love to spend time with my family in the holidays but holiday music and such shouldn't emerge until Dec. 1.  But if you celebrate, I hate to hear about how much of a chore it is.  I don't mind hearing that something was hard and stress is easy to understand, but I think the stress is mostly based on how much you put into it, and you don't have to put much into it to have a good time.

If you had children (or have more children), where would you like to raise them?
