Hopefully my Giants can repeat.
With the exception of Strahan and some easily replaceable linebackers they're pretty much returning the same team as last year. They also get back a great pass rusher in Mathias Kiwanuka who missed the last half of the '07 season. Hopefully he can help fill some of the pass rush void that Strahan left.
On defense I predict a monster year for Justin Tuck who gave the Pats o-line all kinds of problems in the Superbowl. I'll also be curious to see how CB Corey Webster fares. He was starting to look like a draft bust and all of the sudden played Pro Bowl caliber CB throughout the playoffs, shutting down TO in the Dallas game and intercepting the Farve pass that led to the game winning field goal in the Championship game.
On offense I'm looking toward 2nd year guys WR Steve Smith and RB Ahmad Bradshaw to have good years. Smith really stepped up and became the 3rd Wideout the Giants have been looking for for the last 10 years. He has great poise and has a knack for getting open on 3rd down. Bradshaw is an explosive back who's small but runs hard and can make guys miss.
But its really all about Eli and whether or not he reverts back to his old turnover prone self or if he's turned a page in his career.
I'm still riding on the high of last season and trying to savor it all. From the Cowboys game through to the Superbowl it was just an incredible experience. Seventeen years in the making. The odds are definitely stacked against them repeating, but like the Giants said last year when training camp started, 'why not us?'
