Oh we're a sing along family! Especially in the car. The four us aren't just singing along. We're chair dancing, waving our hands in the air, bip bopping along like a bunch of spastics having a fit.
The ones we usually sing along with are Freedy Johnston, Belle & Sebastian, Ben Folds, The Jackson 5, Of Montreal, some The Magnetic Fields (my wife only likes one of their albums, I love them all) The Mountain Goats, and The Decemberists. My wife knows pretty much every Sinatra song so she sings with him. My younger step-daughter is a Beatles fiend. And I like to embarrass myself with Otis Redding.
We also have some stray songs we always listen to: Dirk Diggler's
The Touch, Black Bear's
Black Bear, the Karate Kid song, Billy, Don't Be a Hero (thanks, Dewey Cox!), and Patches. Also at Christmas time, we're always singing along Especially to The Christmas Shoes and that damn hippopotamus song.
