Tim Russert RIP
« on: June 13, 2008, 12:50:55 PM »
Pretty shocking news

Quote
WASHINGTON - Family members say NBC's Tim Russert has died. They tell The New York Times that Russert died of an apparent heart attack. The host of NBC's "Meet the Press" was 58.

Longtime NBC anchor Tom Brokaw has now confirmed Russert's death, in a special report on NBC.

Brokaw says Russert's death came during a political campaign that "he loved."

Just saw this..
When my family and I lived in Buffalo, we lived just a few blocks away from his family..
My parents are already in contact with our family still living up there..

We've followed his 'storied' career since moving from Buffalo back in 1978

He will Truely be missed

Just read about this on the NY Times website.  I'm speechless.

Meet the Press was the best of the Sunday shows.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

I'd have rather not done it...because I'd rather it not have happened in the first place.   :'(

But you're welcome.

Should have seen Chuck Todd, man looked like he had been crying for hours.

This is very sad, Russert was one of a small handful of newscasters I actually trusted.  He was one of the old guard.  He wasn't just a partisan mouthpiece like most news casters on all news stations, for the right or the left.  He always came off as neutral, but more than that he would not let his show become a podium for people to get their talking points across.  He would actually conduct an interview and call people out when they lied.

This is a sad day.
