Hey, even if you could just read a story and determine whether it was well-written in terms of spelling, grammar, and sentence structure, that would probably be enough, at least in my opinion.  It'd be a great help.

Well I'll be mostly judging genral literary merit and comedic qualities for the most part while I imagin Dim can judge especially "Fan-Fictionality"

I guess this is one of those Youtube clips that won't play away from Youtube.com.  It's the video for "I'll Be Alright Without You" from the Raised On Radio album.  Randy Jackson was a member of Journey during that time and is seen in that video.

that being said, other than shipper/slasher, i won't stick to a genre.

What I'd like to see regarding rule is:

~A specified miniumum/maximum length
~Certain elements that must be included
~Whether it should be "good" or intentionally bad.


Are we getting any answers on those?

Finally! I can write that Homeboys from Outer Space meets Misfits of Science fan-fic I've always wanted to do!

Ok so here be the Rules:

The story should be a minimum of 300 words long, but not multi chapter epics.
It should involve MST3K characters (Mike, Joel The Bots et al)
It can involve characters from MSTed films, let's see how skillfully you all can do that.
It must be of a Shipper or Slash nature but for the sake of people reading the forum, please try to keep ti to a PG13 rating.
We will have two prizes of a $5 gift certificate (at least in this first competition) one for the best straight (in the sense of seriously written) Fan-Fic a one for the best intentionaly Bad one.

I think we'll give you a month to submit entries so the closing date will be the 8th of July at say 5pm EST.

Please pm the entries to the three judges : TripeHoundRedux, Dim of the Yard and Jacob T. Caboose. You can use this thread to chit-chat about the competition and let us know when you've sent in your entry (just in case we miss it say).
