The Santa Clause 3

Dont pay money to watch this.
The only reason why I went, is because I won a contest on a local radio station and they gave me free tickets to it.

I know it doesnt help that I haven't seen any of the previous Santa Clause movies, and it doesn't help that I was expecting it to be bad. But *wow*, this movie was flat. Weak plots and stupid ideas.

Totaly made to cash in on the Christmas *season*. (just like everything else around this time of year :(  )

Tim Allen is ok. but I HATE HATE HATE Martin Short. he is everything that is uncool about showbusiness

I remember seeing the first one in theaters thinking that it would be funny, but it was too geared towards kids to be much funny

I've always liked Martin Short, but aside from Big Trouble, I've never liked anything that Tim Allen did. And even there, he was the wrong actor for the project - he didn't fit Dave Barry's style of humor at all. Though I really don't blame his being there for the overall failure of the film adaptation; Big Trouble was just too unfaithful to the book for it to work. It was funny, but nowhere near as funny as the book was; and they got the tone all wrong - the film should have been much darker. Also, it should have been an R-rated film. Disappointing.

I didn't know Tim Allen had an acting career left anymore.  But hey, he was perfect for "Galaxy Quest".

On a related topic, Richard Roeper's review of Deck The Halls is hilarious:
"You cannot believe how excruciatingly awful this movie is. It is bad in a way that will cause unfortunate viewers to huddle in the lobby afterward, hugging in small groups, consoling one another with the knowledge that it's over, it's over -- thank God, it's over.... Compared to the honest hard labor performed by tens of millions of Americans every day, a film critic's job is like a winning lottery ticket. But there IS work involved, and it can be painful -- and the next time someone tells me I have the best job in the world, I'm going to grab them by the ear, fourth-grade-teacher-in-1966-style, and drag them to see Deck the Halls."

Holy crap, we agree on something. I also enjoyed the book. Never bothered to see the movie, Tim Allen being in it and all. I can't stand Martin Short, though.

I saw Santa Clause 3.  I still have post Martin Short musical number stress disorder. He seriously did a take off of "New York, New York", with "North Pole, North Pole". (shiver)  There are not enough hugs in the world to defrost my frozen soul after viewing that.  That musical number (though meant to be funny?) is only rivaled by Hulk Hogan's ballad "The World Just Lost Another Hulkamaniac".

Also, I agree with the take on "Big Trouble".  That was a Big disappointment (yes my humor knows no bounds).  Tim Allen is not a witty comedian.  He should be in things where he can grunt and act like an animal.  Oh wait, Shaggy Dog had plenty of that and still was brick stupid.  But as a fan of bad movies I'm sure glad he left Television.

Yes.  YES.  Galaxy Quest is Tim Allen's best movie by far.

Sad thing is, Tim Allen's pre-Home Improvement stand up specials are actually pretty damn funny.  But, Disney pretty much owns his ass now.

Ya know, I LIKE Tim Allen. He doesn't always pick up the best movies, but he's a great slapstick comic and he's managed to finally ditch his comedian persona, which is something Larry the Cable Guy will never be able to claim. :^)
