Maybe not the right thread for this, but I've been listening to music that I haven't listened to in a long while (mostly punk) and have learned that many songs I thought were about something were really about something all together different.
ALL's "Birthday I.O.U" probably the biggest example.
Always thought it was about a youthful relationship that went bad. It is. But it's also about regret over an abortion. Seems very, very obvious listening to it now. But wasn't to me when it came out.

I've long held that this pinball table has the best music ever. Now I know for sure. A new Black Knight table was just recently released. I love me some pinball  8)

BTW, that's Steve Ritchie doing the voice of the Black Knight. Not only did he design the game, he was also the original voice of Shao Khan in Mortal Kombat 2.

Cannon's Puss N Boots has been on my list of Rifftrax I'd like to see for quite awhile now.  Behold the song stylings of Christopher Walken as the titular character...

Okay, I forgot what happened to my CD I bought of the soundtrack to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night back in 2000 or so. Anyway so a couple years ago I found the album available on Amazon MP3. I bought a few tracks and decided to just buy the rest later, and suddenly when I go to do so... It's NOWHERE to be found!!! I assume Amazon lost the rights or something, but anyway I was pissed.

Today, I am purchasing some music I could only find on Google play and... I come across Symphony of the night... except it's not CALLED Symphony of the night, it's under a different title, "Akumajo Dracula X Gekka No Nocturne"(It's going by the same title in the Mp3 department of Amazon too!!!)!!!! The artist isn't even Michiru Yamane, it's Castlevania sound team!!!! How in the freaking hell is any English speaking video game player supposed to find the damn soundtrack on Google or Amazon and purchase it?! I honestly have no freaking idea and i'll tell you what pisses me off more, there are people on Ebay still selling the CD soundtrack for Symphony of the night for anywhere from 30 dollars on up!!! I got the Symphony of the night soundtrack MP3 album off Google play for $7.99.

So apparently Tina's version isn't the original version of What's Love Got to Do With It?.

If you are ever again looking for a CD - especially out of print ones - check out www.discogs.com  It is basically an eBay 'Buy Now' store with hundreds of people around the world trying to sell their copies of various CDs (and vinyl, and more).  Because there are so many people trying to sell the same thing, and because there are far more different releases than eBay or Amazon list, the prices are usually (but not always) MUCH cheaper than eBay or Amazon.  I've purchased at least two or three dozen CDs through Discogs, from high-positive-feedback sellers and have been very happy will all but one of them (far better odds than I ever had with anything from Amazon Marketplace sellers!) - but even that one gave a quick and complete refund (including for return shipping, because there was a condition discrepancy from what he'd listed).

Here's the search results for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night  Well over a dozen different releases.  The few I looked at did appear to be $30 or above, as I suspect it is a collectible, given its connection to non-music fanbases (e.g. Yoko Kanno's anime' music tends to also go up in value when out of print), but occasionally one can find a particular release that has someone who really needs to sell their copy, so it is considerably lower priced.

Remember the name: Discogs - your place to go for music!  ;)
