Too many comedies on your list.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

I have to admit, Surf Ninjas used to be my FaVORITE movie...of course, I was like 15...I remember laughing so hard at that film.  We quoted lines and everything.

I need to watch it again because for the life of me, I can't remember why we laughed so hard and it's been ~10 years since I've seen it.  I only vaguely remember what happens in it at all and I can't remember any of the lines from it.  But we used to watch it at least once a week.  I was in love with Rob Snider (not like a crush, but I thought he was the funniest man in the entire world).  I started watching SNL just to see him (but he went off air shortly after that movie, coincidence?  I think not).  I even made my mom take me to the opening day of Judge Dredd.  In my defense, he was pretty funny on SNL.  The Robinator, The Robman, Robalabadingdong.

I know I have the VHS somewhere. I should watch it and be disillusioned about my childhood.  Like Howard the Duck, another one of my kid movie icons. I rewatched that a few years ago and I was like "This is a pervy, stupid movie about an alien duck...I used to like this?"

How about Trick or Treat?   This film is really riff worthy.  It is easily available at any Target or Netflix.

What's interesting is that we have digital cable at home along with some premium channels, including Showtime. For some reason they feel it necessary to run Surf Ninjas at least twice a day. It's almost like they think that if they play it a bunch of times it'll earn them more than their single Star and people won't judge the quality before seeing it first.

Why is Memoirs of a Geisha on there? Mind you, I haven't seen it, but it sounds like it would be on par with riffing 'Empire of the Sun' or something like that.

As for The Lake House, as much as people would think its ripe for the riffing because it has Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, it's actually not a bad little film.  They're very suited to their roles and it actually is kind of  touching. I wouldn't call it a major accomplishment of modern cinema (for a number of reasons), but if I was going to riff a chick-flick, there are many MANY films I would put on the list ahead of it.

I do agree that Starship Troopers, and Mask of Zorro would be good choices though.

But not Back to the Future- although I'm pretty sure many people either own it or know someone who does (hell, I own it), it is kind of a comedy and I can't really imagine making it much funnier than it already is.

I don't know about Jarhead.  I've never seen it, but I thought I read pretty good critical reviews of it and I don't know how much the subject matter lends itself to riffing...

I could have sworn that Bullit was one of the movies that got MST3k'd, but it turns out it wasn't.  I don't know why I thought that...

Mask of Zorro would be good choices though.

nice pick!  not a comedy per-se, lots of people saw/own it, takes itself too seriously,...

My votes for movies to riff. As others have said, if my vote matches someone elses, then just consider it a seconded nomination.

General List
------------

Blade Runner (1982. Not sure what to say about this one, I just think it has plenty of riffing potential.)

Tron (1982. "Attacking the not-so-jolly red giant with a Wham-o Frisbee sounded like a good idea at the time.", "What would happen if Tron's dog tried to intercept the frisbee?" )

X-Files: Fight the Future (1998. Conspiracy Theories = Easy Pickings.)

Independance Day (1996. with Will Smith and mysteriously susceptible alien computer systems.)

Excalibur (1981. Cheesy special effects and green-tinged armor. Cross-references to Monty Python and the Holy Grail during the finding of the grail scene with Sir Gawaine would be easy. bonus point: Patrick Stewart is in this.)

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991. with Kevin Costner. I think Kevin Costner is right up there with Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise in the most riff-deserving actors catagory.)

Batman and Robin (1997. because it has SOOO many targets... I mean actors and actresses... I mean characters, yeah, characters worth riffing. although I wouldn't mind seeing Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson riffed either.)

The Mummy (1999. with Brendan Fraser. plenty of material here.)

Dune (1984. bonus points: Patrick Stewart and Sting are in this movie. Now, if this one is chosen to be riffed, be careful, because there are 2 versions of this. I like the one with the extended intro that explains the history at the beginning personally. Suggested riff: "I can just imagine one of the Willy Wonka dwarves using these sonic weapons - "oooomPA! oooomPA!")

Highlander (1986. bonus point: Sean Connery is in this.)

Underworld (2003. Kate Beckinsale is super hot, but we can't let that shield the rest of them from a good riffing can we?)

Tombstone (1993. with Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday (isn't that enough right there?), plus I think a Western might be a bit of a challenge, and would broaden Rifftrax' selection of genres riffed as well.)

The Mask of Zorro (1998. with Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Cross-references to The Silence of the Lambs anyone? And don't get us started on "He's very vigorous..." either.)

Particularly Bad List
---------------------
Hudson Hawk (1991. with Bruce Willis and Sandra Bernhard. Need I say more?)

Romeo & Juliet (1996. with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. A movie I nominate as one of the all time most painful movies to watch. How can this stinker of a movie NOT get Riffed?)

The Net (1995. with Sandra Bullock and Dennis Miller.)

Hackers (1995. Angelina Jolie is an over-rated actress. Please riff this movie, or at least Tomb Raider.)

Entrapment (1999. with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones. "It's like a low-budget, laid back James Bond movie. No super-gadgets, but 007 still gets the hot woman, and despite age differences even!")

Like your suggestions Jinto
Tomb Raider (nice I hadnt thought of this yet), Tombstone (check out my tread for it), X-files (big fan of the show & a riff would be cool), and Independence Day (Will Smith  ;D). Your others were good too, just want these the most
