I'm hoping to get a Wii in time for Xmas but if not, no huge loss, i'll get it sooner or later.

You'll get your Wii someday. When you're a big boy.

People are already, literally, camping out at Walmart and Best Buy here for the PS3. My mom works Walmart electronics and she said there were a bunch of dudes hanging out there in chairs with ice chests and stuff this morning.  Sad thing is, they're in the wrong spot but they're being so loud and dorky (playing "I'm the ultimate gamer, pay attention to me because I deserve some news coverage), nobody cares enough to tell 'em.  The news doesn't care either, apparently, because they weren't on.  Maybe tomorrow.

I was going to go to try and get a PS3 to put on ebay so I could buy my Wii but I doubt it's worth the hassle now if people are already lining up.  That store is just getting 10 PS3 (slightly more Wiis...Wii-s, Wiix?).  I've been following the release news and I don't think anyone is getting 200 of anything right off, but there is going to be another shipment of both consoles before Christmas (perhaps they'll get more then).

Oh, so THAT'S what those idiots were doing with the pizza and folding chairs at Walmart last night. I was wondering what that was about. Dumbasses. Who would buy an initial release of a Sony product? Bad idea. Or Microsoft, for that matter.

I have my Wii reserved too.   :)  I currently have it with Red Steel, but I'm looking to get some of the other launch titles (Zelda, Mario Galaxy).  The PS3 isn't out here until March, but I'm not anxious to get it until the price drops dramatically anyhow.  I will eventually get an XBOX360 (just for Dead Rising), but not until that drops in price too.  I've been playing Smackdown vs Raw 2007 since I got it a couple of days ago, but I'm really just an RPG/Adventure Game nerd.  I do have Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, which kicks ass too.  Oh...I'm proud/big-headed enough to say that this is my PC:  ;D

I'm currently playing FFXII.  I want to get the Wii and Zelda :-)

What I want to know not only who would buy an initial release Sony product but who would pay 4 times the price for it? Do they not remember the whole overheating Xbox fiasco where fanboys who paid tons had to send their boxes back anyway (and I promise the dude who sold it to them on ebay isn't going to care about that).

Idiots :-)

I'm also looking forward to getting a Wii and Zelda.  I'm not concerned about getting it on launch day, though I might stop by once all the crowds have cleared out.  I'll kind of have to, since I'll be heading back from New York on Sunday anyway, so I won't be home until later.  If I get one, great, if not, great!

Sony has my loyalty.  A couple years ago, the motor in my PS2 went out, it started making loud grinding noises, and ended up digging a HUGE groove into my copy of Tenchu.  My PS2 was more than a couple years old by then, and any warranty that existed had long expired.  But I called them up anyways, prepared for them to tell me to politely piss off.  But to my surprise, not only did they replace the part for free (and quickly), they replaced my damaged Tenchu game as well.

I'll definitely get a PS3 soon, but I'll let the fanboys have the first shipment.  Maybe in a couple months when the fever dies down and there's a few more games available.

And oh yeah, I'm currently working on Hard Level in Guitar Hero 1.  Before that I was playing Tomb Raider Legend, which was actually pretty decent.

I'll buy the PS3 when it gets cheap, and I won't buy anything else until then.  I don't think there's any reason for me to buy more than one console.  It just seems kind of stupidd to me.  I tend to prefer PC games anyway.

I'm a bit worried about Sony's future. They're releasing the most expensive system on the market, the release games have nothing you can't get on other systems, and they have a history of having nothing but trouble with their first wave of systems. I'll hold off until it hits the comic store for $40 in a couple years. :^)

Also, what's the with Sony's advertising!?

Commercial 1) A PS3 sits in a room with a Rubix Cube, suspends it in midair, and makes it explode, coloring all the walls around it.
Commercial 2) A PS3 has a staring contest with a creepy crying baby doll. The PS3 wins?
Commercial 3) A PS3 sits in the middle of the room when a stampede of eggs goes through. The PS3 starts propelling the eggs through the air and slams them against a wall, turning them into a flock of ravens.
Why thank you, I'd love one. :^)

Wow. That was a negative post!

Games I'm currently playing:
I just beat Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Brilliant game. Loads of portable puzzle-solving courtroom-drama-style joy! :^)
Dance Dance Revolution (All of 'em.) - It's a constant in my life because it's how I get my (Usually) daily workout. Exercise isn't so bad when you're being scored.
Justice League: Heroes - I'm more of a Marvel guy, but the missus is big into DC, and with a 2 player mode, it's fun to play together. Good practice for the Wii version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. :^)
Just beat Sam and Max episode 1 - I long for more. I just found out there are all kinds of hidden things (Like causing a car wreck in front of Sam and Max's office) that you can do, so I'm probably gonna give it another go.

But the games I play change like the wind, so next week it might be a totally different list. :^)

I'm currently playing Tony Hawk's Project 8 for the 360, and Guitar Hero 2. As soon as I finish Tony Hawk I'm gonna go get Gears of War. Plus I think I'm going to go buy the new Yoshi's Island game for the DS today at lunch, I'm a sucked for a good old fashioned side scroller.

Pak's post pretty much speaks for me. We're waiting on PS3, though it'll be hard for me because I'm a huge Tekken fan. But I would rather wait and actually get a game system that won't be a paperweight 6 months into operation. The kinks seem to get ironed out by the 2nd or 3rd generation of Playstation (plus the price drop). I do want a 360 now thanks to Dead Rising (I'm a HUGE zombie game fan) but, again, it'll be a while.

You don't wait on Nintendo, though. I'm disapointed that Metroid Prime 3 got held back until next year and won't be a release title, but I guess that just means they're making the game even better.

  Games currently in progress:

  Justice League Heroes
Metroid Prime 2 (I'm stuck on the last boss. Have been for a while.)
  Metroid Fusion
  Resident Evil 4
  Silent Hill 2

How are you liking FFXII?  I wish I had more time to play it.  It's quite immersing.  I'm having trouble balancing going on side quests and doing the main story, there's so much to do.  But I do like that they aren't afraid to let you go off track and get your ass kicked, where as in previous games those areas would all be blocked off.

Alright, I have to ask.  If I forced you to pick, which would it be, Silent Hill or Resident Evil?

I'd take Silent Hill any day personally, Silent Hill 2 is really hard to top in my book.  Although, Resident Evil 4 was one of the best game of the past couple of years.

RE4 was a really, really fun game.  I never really got into any of the Silent Hills, I tried them but couldn't get hooked.

Resident Evil 4 was great, but at a certain point, I think after the fourth time Ashley got kidnapped, I shouted at my tv, "Could you at least TRY to not get kidnapped?!?!"
