I Just Finished Watching...

Last night I watched The Acedemy of Robots Choice Awards Preview Special (or whatever the final name was). One of the all time best episodes. They need to do more of those. "That unsinkable movie that's still afloat at the box office, yes it's full steam ahead, you know the one I mean --Mrs Brown!"

Girls Town

Funny episode.  Never a favorite, although I know it's very popular.  I think it's because the silly ass movie is still fairly watchable and becomes the main attraction rather than the riffing itself. Riffing is good though.

Operation Double 007

Hilarious.  Twice as funny as I remembered, and I remembered it being fairly funny.  I've always ranked season six as my favorite but lately season five seems to be holding up a lot better than six.

PHANTOM PLANET----love this one. favorite skit of this episode (though in this they're all good) is when Mike plays Debussy's Arabesque on the water glasses. cracks me up every time. "You know captain, every year of my life----" "SHUT UP!"

DEATHSTALKER---the music is so bad, the bad accents, the 80s/90s hair (not sure when this movie was made), the princess's figure skating outfit, and of course "Potatoes are what we eat!"

ACADEMY OF ROBOTS CHOICE AWARDS---so funny and brilliant, and one of the best episodes there is. "yes, rather than pulling themselves up by their bootstraps, poor people fritter their time away dancing!"

that's one of my favorite lines. yes. also "coeur de la mer? doesn't that mean the middle of a female horse?" i love the way they introduce everything, like "this takes place after the death of Prince Albert, of "in the can" fame" and "billy zane plays a ken doll in girly makeup"

not different except that the MST guys never riffed any of his other performances before. but a brilliant observation.

that episode is one where the movie is so awful it hurts and even the riffing doesn't make it watchable for me. Only watched it the one time and can't go back. but maybe i will give it another chance because that was like 6 years ago.
