I had to sit in a car for 17 hours straight twice this week visiting family so I had myself an epic MST3K Christmas Marathon featuring several classics and a few I had never seen before: (got a stack of DVD sets for christmas  :highfive: )

Girl in Gold Boots
Time Chasers
Boggy Creek II
The Skydivers
Catalina Caper
Hobgoblins
The Phantom Planet
Eegah
Monster A-Go Go

Today I watched Mitchell and was pleasantly surprised by the opening riffs: "Eegah... shtemlow. Watch out for snakes!" I love when they reference themselves.

Anyway, yes I did snap several times during the trip. I had to stop a couple of times to ask myself why I wanted to watch Hobgoblins.  :gouge:  Monster A-Go Go also lived up to its legendary status, the warning labels that decorate the disc ought not to be ignored. I think Manos was actually a much better movie.

Yeah, Monster A-Go-Go is so slow I think it more unbearable than Manos. But I will still watch it sometimes for the riff "Look, when you can't even out act the post...!". I love that one.

This movie had the single most awesome thing I have ever seen in a movie   A werewolf driving a car!

Other then that it was a really bad movie,I didn't know acting could get that bad.

Still it is one of the best episodes.

I still maintain that Monster A Go-GO is not only the worst film they ever did, but the absolute worst film ever made. In fact, I challenge anybody to come up with a film that's worse.

I'll agree with that.  It's almost unbearably bad -- thank God for the MST3k crew.

I saw Future War for the first time the other day.  I thought it was hilarious, and clearly shows that the Sci-Fi era was perhaps the most polished, funniest version of MST3k.

I just picked up the 20th Anniversary Edition box set from my local comic book shop, and I watched First Spaceship to Venus and Laserblast this weekend.

I also very much enjoyed the 3-part Making of MST3K documentary in the box set. Very cool stuff.

The Magic Sword.

Basil Rathbone and Gerry Lockwood in a Bert I.Gordon movie?!

Still this is one of Joel's best episodes.

I had to take some breaks during the course of it but I finally got through my arch nemesis: 1009 Hamlet

I used to get up every Saturday morning no matter how late I went to bed in order to get my fix. Normally, I can stay awake through anything, I have never fallen asleep during a movie or tv show. That is, with the exception of Hamlet. Every time it came on I tried and every time I failed. As I popped in the DVD, I came to realise that I almost had the opening segment memorised, that implies countless failed attempts throughout my childhood. Thanks to my new DVD, I conquered this movie at long last.

Hamlet: "To die, to sleep"
Servo: "To SLEEEEEP!"
Crow: "There's an old chestnut."
 :highfive:

Victory is sweet.

I watched Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell last night. It's still soundly entrenced in my top-5

I am also a big fan of Deathstalker, and watched it recently. "Potatoes are what we eat!!" is heard daily at my house. I wish they'd release it on DVD! But that's another very long list.
