Ah, unfortunately, Snopes.com has debunked the story as urban legend (and to be honest, I suspected it as such from the beginning).  It's a damn good joke, though.

Yeah, that story is bullshit. In fact, every time Bono clapped his hands, Tom Cruise was in Africa saving a child from dying. Because he's the only one who can.

I heard the story was that the Super Adventure Club was saving children in Africa.
