So is Vertigo in? Can we put a clause in saying we can pick a movie over 30 years old if its on the top 250 on IMDB?

I mean Vertigo is available all over right?

And since American  Beauty is out, I'll swap it with Con-Air...

Con-Air is one of the best Action Movies ever made, from the scene when the drunk guys pick a fight with our "Hero" for no reason at all, then they fight in the rain with the factory bealching fire in the background, to his "Magic" punch that kills instantly...

So My movies are...

Vertigo

Con-Air

Fight Club

Sorry for all my switching. If Vertigo is really out... ( and girr sad if it is). Then... The 6th Sense
I'll sig you if you sig me, baby!

Daredevil (it's the best worst comic movie ever just because it is so damned serious)

Poltergiest (which I love but I think would make a DAMN funny rifftrax)

Street Fighter (Van Damne is WORSE than Keanu! There I said it!)

1. Highlander

2. The X-Files Movie (Fight The Future or whatever the hell you want to call it.)

3. Superman (1978. Yeah, I said it. It's super-overrated.)

What's with all the Transformers-hating? Oh, yeah. Judd Nelson as Hot Rod. Nevermind.

I think the group shower scene from Starship Troopers might preclude it from RiffTrax, which would be a shame, 'cause Starship Troopers is perfect riffing fodder.

My nominations:

Terminator 2 (why not?)
Die Hard (for its action-packed eightiesness)
Artificial Intelligence: AI (for attempting to be a "deep, Kubrickesque sci-fi")
By the way, I was being sarcastic.

I don't want to be "rule-master" or anything, but could people keep their nominations contained to one post? When I was collating the suggestions thread, it was a real pain trying to remember if someone had already nominated a movie beforehand.  If you want to change your nominations, just modify you're old post.  Thank you!   ;D

My nominations:

The Wizard of Oz
Commando
(and just to get Pak in trouble) Double Dragon.

I do not think age is really a concern here. Availabilty is the key factor.
Pretty much any Hitchcock film is going to be readily available. Wizard of Oz is even older and still a great suggestion.

So far we have 51 different entries for the playoffs. Nothing eliminated.
Leading nominations thus far:
Batman and Robin with 6 total entries
Battlefield Earth with 6
Jurrasic Park with 5
Armageddon with 5
Double Dragon, Terminator 2 and Red Dawn with 3 each

As it stands now, I may be going back to the original list in the old thread and taking some of it's top vote getters (that are different than the ones already here) to flesh out round 1.

Out of the titles that have already been suggested, here are the ones that I most want to see riffed:

Batman and Robin
Battlefield Earth
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

If you have others to nominate, please do so! We are still in the nomination phase, so don't worry if it has been suggested yet.

I know I've aleady contributed three of them, but here are three more in case you need more votes:

The Evil Dead (unlike the other two Evil Dead movies, this one isn't INTENTIONALLY funny)
Titanic
Lost in Space
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Ok, I fixed my old post to make things clear that that wasn't my final selection, but left it in-tact so people don't say "OMG WTF BBQ happen!>?!?"

Okay. Uh...
You know what, let's go ahead and nominate Cool World. Any film where even the director himself hates it would make for good material.

Got to put in my choices...

1) Wing Commander (just check out RottenTomatoes for the ratings on that turkey!)

2)Battle Beyond the Stars (George Peppard as a space cowboy?)

and finally

3)The Black Hole (when you have star power in the form of Ernest Borgnine, and you still can't make the movie exciting...)
