Alright, all I had was my crappy point and shoot but here are some photos to compliment Tarantulas.  I'll show images for a few and then link the rest, so as not to take up space.

Myself and Mike.  My hair is green because I had worked Boo at the Zoo the night before until 12:00 and I had to go to work at 8:00 that morning.  Not enough time to wash the green out  :)

Mike demonstrates his "Instant Movie" book

Mike has Dorothy help him out by reading some pages from his "instant movie" book.

Looking very satanic here.

The "Trivia" game

Book signing (I asked someone to take a picture of him signing my stuff but they obviously misunderstood because I'm behind him in this photo).

And this is how dumb I am Tarantulas...I brought my video camera but the battery was dead.  I found a walmart but no batteries or chargers around.  Oh well :-) It was not a well planned trip on my part, lol.

I didn't get to ask him a question even though I tried.  My mom observed that he generally avoided girls during the event (I think it was a mainly male crowd though) and we couldn't remember one female asking a question.  I did have a girly question to ask so he was probably doing the right thing.  I wanted to 1) ask him about rifftrax future releases (I can find that here but I wanted to give him a plug opportunity, some folks I spoke to had never heard of it) and 2) Ask what kind of shoes he had on.  They looked like the softest most comfy things ever.  I didn't ask him either at the autograph session.

Great stories, both of you, and lovelovelove the pics!  Makes me wish I'd buckled down and driven the 838 miles.  Seeing Mike in person is on my list of 100 things to do before I die.  (Oh, wait...I'm thinking of the list of things to do before Mike dies.)

You are a LovelyGal, AmandaGal, even with green hair!

I can't get over how different Mike looks from his MST3K days.  His hair looks a lot darker.  I guess when you keep watching those same eps, you just assume that he's earmarked the mid-20's, mousse-tousled look to accompany him in perpetuity.  Apparently he's swapped that out for some sort of man-purse.

This is my fault, for here is what happens when you let girls ask questions:

Y'know, Mike's instant movie plot idea is pretty much identical to a book I was thumbing through in the humor section of my local Borders. I don't remember the title or author but it seemed to work the same way. I'm sure Mike's would be better though.

AmandaGal: Great pictures... be sure to send them on over to the guys at MST3K.com

I'm sure Sampo here on the board would love to see them

And last, but not least, my ?overzealous fan / scared celebrity? picture with Mike.
(Remember this was taken in fun, and no Nelsons were harmed in its creation.)

Ooh!  Could a Tarantulas head thread be in the making??

Same exact face, same exact angle.  I think his hairs are even falling in the same place.  That Mike Nelson is talented.

Apparently he's swapped that out for some sort of man-purse.

it's not a man-purse. It's a messenger bag. There's nothing purse-like about them and they can carry many masculine, manly objects.
I really do like pie.

Just to clarify, Mike was carrying his props in the bag (the books he gave away, his DVD, his instant movie book, etc).  He wasn't walking around jauntily with his hands in the air and saying things like, "Those boots look so cute with that skirt hon!  Work it girlfriend!!"   ;D

And a compact umbrella, incase it starts raining
In brightest day, in darkest night
No DVD shall escape their sight
Let those who tremble in bad movies light,
Beware the power, Rifftrax's might!

Someone should give Mike one of their reauthored Rifftrax DVDs and see what he thinks.
