Best/Worst Bond Scores

One of the most important elements of any Bond film is, of course, the music.  So which Bond Film would you say has the best music overall?  And which Bond film do you think has the worst music?  And if you like, you can include the video games in this list as well.

First off, I think we all have to give mad props to Monty Norman's Dr. No soundtrack for introducing the James Bond Theme to the world. 

Overall, though, I'd have to say my favorite James Bond scores are From Russia With Love (the movie and the game), You Only Live Twice, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Casino Royale.

Worst music? Simple, Die Another Day's theme was the worst excuse for a Bond theme, ever. Madonna needed to go to Bond Theme 101.

David Arnold is one of those composers who's too talented for the projects he works on.  Like, the score for Independence Day was probably the best Sci-Fi action score since the original Star Wars trilogy, yet, well, the megacheesiness of the film has been well-chronicled by several sources.  Especially a certain former host of a puppet-based sci-fi comedy show.

I thought having the ex-lead singer from Soundgarden and Audio Slave (Chris Cornell) was a great move in Casino Royale.     Since that was a more "gritty" Bond, having a Shirley Bassey like song would have not worked.

Yeah, that was only "Gritty" if you live in 1987 and think Van Halen is "gritty."  I thought it was Sammy Hagar when I first heard it.

For worst Bond theme song I'd pick 'The Man With The Golden Gun' sung by Lulu - whoever the hell that was.  Painfully dated song.  It's my favorite Roger Moore Bond movie, though.

I have nothing against Chris Cornell. I just think that song is a shitty 80s throwback.  But I have a ton of issues with the "new" Bond, so that's just the start of it.

Yes, I love the John Barry score in OHMSS and I also like View to a Kill

I think the beginning song for Casino Royale and the score are the best James Bond songs/scores. I also like Live and Let Die by Wings...I don't know why...
