Lucky falls by the wayside for the same reason the Froot Loops mascot does, while I won't vote for a fake British bird I absolutely won't vote for an Oirish caricature.

Oh and Lucky Charms taste nasty.

I may be part Irish, but Toys R Us sells more than one item.

Geoffrey encourages proper procurement of what kids want.  In other words he's identifiable with a store where you are supposed to buy things, legally obtaining them with the exchange of money.  Say what you will about capitalism, but it's a step in the right direction compared to theft.  Lucky is one of many cereal mascots that's been caught in the trap of teaching kids to steal cereal.  Kids steal Lucky Charms from a Leprechaun, they yank away Trix from the rabbit just to be mean (Why?  Why can't they let the damn rabbit have some food!), hell the industry even roped in Barney Rubble to steal Fruity and Coco Pebbles from Fred!

Geoffrey, thank you for being a positive example.  You've earned my vote.

It always pissed me off that the rabbit can't have Trix. What if he is a child rabbit? Why are Trix just for kids? Makes no damn sense!
