BloodRayne 2 planned: Uwe Boll to direct
« on: November 09, 2006, 07:47:31 PM »
November 6, 2006 - Uwe Boll is a one-man videogame movie machine that cannot be stopped! Box office and critics be damned, Boll is moving ahead with plans for a sequel to BloodRayne.

Brightlight Pictures announced today that model-turned-actress Natassia Malthe (DOA, Elektra) will star in Boll's BloodRayne 2.

The sequel, written by Christopher Donaldson and Neil Every, is expected to mirror the plot of developer Terminal Reality's game sequel, with Rayne as the only one standing between humankind and a horrifying vampire dawn. The new movie will incorporate Western elements.

"BloodRayne 2 marries the vampire, action and Wild West genres, and we are very excited that this movie is going to innovate a fantastic new look," Brightlight's Shawn Williamson said.

"I'm excited to do a sequel to BloodRayne," Boll adds, "and this time in the Wild West. I'm a big fan of Sergio Leone and John Ford."

Uwe Boll is an attention-whore. Even if you don't pay to see his movies (and that shows that you have a hint of sanity), he still gets free promotion whenever anyone on the Internet calls his films the worst ever made. And he stirs up even more attraction by making ridiculously stupid statements about people who hate his work in the press, so he can attract even more attention. It would generally be best if he were ignored. That way, he might go away. Or, if he doesn't, at least there's a chance of one of his idiotic flicks getting the RiffTrax treatment, which is better than nothing, I guess, but still not up to the joy that could be had if Boll were finally persuaded to quit the film industry and go away, forever.

Yep, like I said. Internet critics kept citing it as the worst movie ever made, and so people actually paid money to see the cinematic atrocity (I actually have not seen any Boll film other than "House of the Dead," which is one of the stupidest films I have ever born witness to. However, I am glad to say that I have never paid for a Boll film), thus giving its director all he ever wanted: attention, and a coupla bucks in his pocket.

Hollywood letting thisman film is just like Hollywood taking a big smelly dump on our heads...

can the madness be stopped?!?

but now that I think about it, this is also a good chance for our leader, Mike Nelson to make a few extra dollars himself... Riff away, captain!

Wow. I wonder if this one will also have a 15 minute long, mundane and completely unnecesary love scene sloppily thrown right into the middle of it for absolutely no reason.

It must be kept in mind that
a. Hollywood doesn't let this man run wild. Besides perhaps distribution, I think Hollywood has NOTHING to do with this guy. I could be mistaken, but I think Canada is the closest he's come to shooting a frame of footage here. All they are doing is NOT bidding on lousy videogame movie rights. You notice that the HALO rights were actually kept in Hollywood. Because they think there is actually a movie (hence money) to be made from it. Probably wrong, but there nonetheless.
b. His films do not need to make a profit at all. They are made for purposes of defrauding tax payers in Germany.
c. He is an attention whore. One only needs to look at the 'boxing his detractors' publicity stunt to verify that.

That all being said, I think Alone in the Dark would make a fine Rifftrax.
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

i found  my short little review of Bloodrayne in an old Uwe thread

all this Uwe Boll talk got me curious so I rented Bloodrayne yesterday.
My goodness. What can be said about this movie. Just thinking about how to describe the movie kinda fills me with that feeling of having just ate a fish sandwich which may have been past its prime.

I can say this, though. I have learned several things from this movie. For example:

-Weapons that may seem cool in a video game may actually be quite clumsy and impractical in real life.

-If your movie is set in a time period where huge explosions would be anachronistic, simply replace firey explosions with explosions of blood!

-Some movies don't really care if you understand the plot or not.

-Meat Loaf's last name is apparantly Aday. (this makes his nickname make alot of sence)

-A movie can make you feel drunk. I swear this movie refuses to focus on any shot for more than 1.5 seconds.

-If the movie you're watching takes place in an ambiguous time and geographic location, it's fun to make up your own name for the setting. I call the country of Bloodrayne "Gypsyvania".

-Ben Kingsly can bring an air of dignity to any role. Even if a very bored dignity, a dignity none the less.

go ahead make a sequel. Who cares really? Heck there were 4 Deathstalker movies. I never cared for the Bloodrayne video games anyway.

What really, really makes me depressed is that he owns the rights to a Castlevania movie

dear God, what is there left to live for?
I really do like pie.

He doesn't own Metroid YET...

And I though Paul W.S. Anderson was doing the Castlevania movie? Not saying he's any better... but he did bring us the first Mortal Kombat. The counts for something, right?
