The Craigslist Game
« on: February 12, 2008, 09:07:25 PM »
This is a game my family members like to play with each other.

The point of the game is to find the most ridiculous items listed as FREE on Craigslist.
Either the item, description, or pictures can play a part in how ridiculous the ad is.

What you wanna do is either link to the ad itself(which usually expire after a week), or take a screengrab of the ad like I have done with the
rifftrax advertising thread.

Here is an example:

Link: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/zip/571986688.html

Screengrab:

Here's a couple others that I'll just do links to:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/zip/572356119.html               -Some things you make sure you pay money for.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/zip/572195305.html              -For all you pharmacists out there

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/zip/572071451.html              -Hmm.... Art?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/zip/572029485.html               -Nothing like used hair products - in a brown paper bag!

http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/zip/571897038.html                 -For those whose only option over the years have been XXXL sweat pants,
                                                                                                           your ship has come in.

Now it can't be stuff like "Free Manure" or "Free Hamster Cage", because you can see people possibly needing those. But things like "Slightly opened box of Kix Cereal" or "Lot of mismatched worn socks" are the bread and butter of this game.

I defy anyone to find a better ad than this:

Man, those things are freaky (except for the Owl, I'd totally pick that up).  I've never even been on Craigslist before, but this game has me interested...

FREE GAS STATION CONVENIENT STORE (MUST HAUL AWAY)

Hmm, tempting.  I sure could use a convenience store.  Or is is just a 'convenient' store?  Because a store I have to haul away myself doesn't sound very convenient.

Just think, free dirt!  It's probably the only thing on the Las Vegas Craigslist that isn't fraudulent or stolen!  Unless the guy tries to sell you a timeshare when you get to his house...

FREE FILL DIRT

Not to pee on your parade or anything... but I've actually found this useful.  I was doing some landscaping at my house and I needed some fill dirt, and found some free on craigslist.

Here's a fun one:

I don't know whether to laugh or empathize. Who here has a wedding photo tattooed on their body?

EDIT: Just found another one:

Baby Cereal (NEW)

PLEASE EMAIL WITH A TIME WHEN YOU CAN COME. I WON'T RESPOND IF YOU DON'T GIVE AN APPROXIMATE TIME!

Fully sealed 16 OZ package that expires on Feb. 18, 2008 (though probably good for longer than that). We are already on a box and won't be able to get to this one any time soon.

Please email me with a time when you can come and I'll email you with the address (near Westwood Village and White Center) and leave it outside.

A box of baby cereal that will expire in 5 days. Throw it in the garbage? Hell No! Put it on Craigslist!

These food items people post are hilarious. Why don't they just donate it to a food pantry or something?

The food ones are my favorite, especially when they're opened, expired(in this case nearly), or whose total value is under $6.

or a combination of all three like this lovely little ad:

And Fortis, if your's is too boring, try one of the bigger city Craigslists like New York or LA or San Diego. They tend to get more weirdos there.
