What did we learn?

I learned that Dinosaurs find lawyers tasty.

Now THIS seems a bit preemptive.

Now THIS seems a bit preemptive.

I learned that this tread could be considered preemptive.

I also learned that if you are going to spend a lot of gorgeous special effects, please hire actors who can act.

It bothers me how awesome this movie could have been with better directing and acting.

Doesn't that go for most movies?  There are some that the writing is completely awful, but we have seen bad dialogue matched with good acting work out anyway.

You mean it wasn't awesome already? When did this movie become bad?

I learned that messing with nature doesn't really cause any problems in this movie.  Having a disloyal employee who commits what is essentially an act of terrorism is the major problem.  Stamp those out and your Dino Park should be a go!

I learned that theoretical mathematicians are super cool and worldly, wear leather jackets, and are ultra suave with the ladies, who positively swoon when you over simplify complex theories for them (a phenomenon also on display in Rise of the Silver Surfer).

I also learned that an impact strong enough to completely level a small building- say, a toilet- isn't strong enough to break ribs or snap vertebra of people who are hit by the same impact at the same time.

I learned not to mess with Mother Nature or she will set fire to rainforests. Oh..wait...it was Batman and Robin that taught me that.

I learned that people will call a movie bad just on the basis it is a rifftrax. The acting is fantastic in this movie...

I learned that you should build your dinosaur safari park in Costa Rica so you don't have to deal with minor issues like basic safety procedures.

I learned that a park that has numerous points of security and as modern of a containment system as possible thinks the best way to transport a dangerous, carnivorous, animal into it is by the way of an oversized Petmate and a few Marlboro Men.

I learned that 3 of 4 DVD players in my house won't make it to the end of the library's copy of JP.  :grr:
Also, it's important to breed really really dangerous dinosaurs for your park. Then once you have them, put them in an enclosure so safe that you can't actually see into it. Because people will totally buy 'no really, that's the sound of a velociraptor. I know you can't see them, but they're just so dangerous you'll just have to take my word for it that they're in there.'
