Age appropriate???
« on: February 04, 2008, 12:25:29 PM »
I read the explanation, but still find it vague. Does that mean that it is more "naughty" or that it isn't The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I'm rooting for the former.

I assume that means they won't have any language bawdier than the rating of the movie allows.

I'ts no different than any other Riff, but I assume that's up there as an assurance to Weird Al fans that it's as appropriate as his other stuff.

They never heard the unreleased version of "The Night Santa Went Crazy", then. :D

I hear Polkarama was really dirty before he cut out Nickelback's parody.

I didn't think the Harry Potter riff or some other stuff was necessarily "age appropriate" to the movie, so if this actually IS, I hope they're not getting soft on us in an attempt to draw in big money that wants their movies "made funny."

I'm actually really glad we got this warning. I have a couple of friends who are bigtime Mormons, and also bigtime Weird Al fans. It'd be really awkward playing them this RiffTrax if it had bawdy jokes or four-letter words in it. I think it's a matter of knowing your audience to know that you should say something like this.

There is nothing in the trax that is worse than the language in the actual film.

They actually swear in the movie at least once but they don't swear in the Rifftrax at all (that I remember anyways). There are a few sex jokes but nothing over the top I thought. The movie itself is PG-13, so I took the "age appropriate" tag to mean that this is a PG-13 Rifftrax. Makes sense doesn't it?

Yup, in the movie there's at least one swear and people being dismembered, in the Rifftrax there's 2 or 3 mild dino sex jokes and I don't remember any swearing.....

Mike and Al made a couple of really minor swears, nothing you wouldn't hear on TV these days and Al even made a pot reference.  Personally, I don't care as I don't have kids but to me it seemed pretty much on par with every other Rifftrax they've ever done.  The disclaimer mystifies me but I thought they did a great job with the movie regardless.
