this better not blow up in my face like the rifftrax book club (which did dune incidently).
BTA did you even finish reading Dune? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?

No, I just can't get interested in that book.  Besides nobody but you complained, which was odd.  Sorry about that.

This is for realz though.  I wrote for the Tron riff, and the batman riff.  So I have riffing credentials.  I'm serious about doing this.

Let's just riff the theatrical then.  That will be a little less taxing anyway.

This doesn't have to be finished until late April right RVR?

But really though, at least the extended cuts out the Lynchian grossness like spitting, heart plugs... the Baron's Jell-O wrestling scene. Plus, Gurney's rendition of "Smoke on the Water" alone is worth the price of admission.

Come on, I just really want to riff that narrator guy. Besides, if you do the regular version, you'll always wonder what the extra forty minutes of riffs would have been. Personally I don't bother watching the regular version anymore, so I'd only be watching it for the riff. I honestly find it hard to watch anything theatrical I've seen an extended version of. Like that damn Harry Potter and the not-shown-on-DVD scenes that they show on TV and that you have to go through a maze to find on the extra disc. The scenes alone aren't worth looking for, but they make the movie better when they're in.

Oh Yeah, I agree. All I watch now is the extended version as well.
I'm just thinking about if Mike, Kev, and Bill take this on, which version would they most likely do and it'd probably be the theatrical version

Yes, they're sooper lazy, they would probably do the short version. Although it's still likely they will never do it at all. It's so hard to make Dick Cheney jokes in a movie from 1984.

I remember when they did ID4 (Independence Day), they did the theatrical version because it was available more so than the extended version

Wow, that'd be tough to edit though.

I figured since the extended version is on the same disc as the theatrical version and that is the current release and I've never even seen an older release, the availability wouldn't be in question.

Netflix has both versions, so I don't know what he was talking about.

So which one?  RVR pick one so we can move on.
