Breaking bad, you watching it?
« on: January 27, 2008, 11:38:32 PM »
I hope other people here are watching it, this show is beautiful..

The bit with the "incredible melting corpse" this week was a laugh riot.

I hope this show goes the distance, tho with a main character with terminal cance rit might be hard to get several seasons out of it...

Yeah, I think it's a great show.  Very funny.

The look on the professor's face was just incredible, I mean I laughed so hard I was crying. The thing was the total essence of the scene was so horrible but they made it so funny I just had to laugh even harder.

I'm thinking of using that look as an avatar....

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up.

It seems like it's been years since this was on. I'm gonna have to watch the first two seasons again to get ready.

Is really no one watching this? It's easily in the top five shows on TV right now. This last season was really great and that last episode was just devastating (namely from when Walt and Jessie meet up at the Lazer Tag place to the very end).

I don't know I never posted here, but yea, I started watching it right around the time season 3 started. It quickly became one of my favorite shows. Can't wait for season 4 to start, but I hope they end the series after it. I think I read an interview where that was the plan, just one or two more seasons after 3.

Got the email this morning, season 3 is FINALLY coming to DVD/Blu Ray...in June. Preorder is up, and the price is pretty good! Only $35 for the BD.

Has AMC announced when it will be returning this coming Summer?

From what I've found it won't start until July.

That's cool. I cannot wait to see what Gus' reaction is to the events that went down during the conclusion of the S3 finale. And the cartel's coming, woohoo!!

This is a show that I have to get back into at some point... My wife and I rented the first season and watched the entire thing over the course of a vacation week... and then watched probably half of the second season. The acting is great across the board, and there are brilliant moments of black comedy and suspense, but in general it just didn't stick with me. Maybe it's that I've seen this "character with nothing to lose will do stpuid shit" premise before and it doesn't impact as it should... or maybe that season two seemed to lose much of the black comedy spark that kept me interesting over that week of watching the first season... and when that dark comedy and suspense are absent, it struck me as a talkative bland drama... I dunno... I guess I'll need to revisit it down the road, everybody seems to praise the thing, so maybe I was just missing something.

That's odd, I never saw any absence or lack-thereof the dark humor after the first season, and it's definitely a ton of the BB appeal for me. Regarding the conceit of the show, it's fascinating watching the Walter/Heisenberg dynamic at work, and while the end goal of the character may not be anything new (eventually becoming a kingpin), the journey to date has been thrilling.

Season 3 is just ridiculously good...the cousins, "Fly", Hank's outcome, IFT, Pinkman's innocence, the fleshing out of Gus & Sal, and the coolest motherfucker in Albuquerque....Mike:

...and Badger returns! I envy anyone that gets to sit through the third season for their first time.   :)
