Stallone Movies?
« on: November 07, 2006, 10:56:14 AM »
Stallone is obviously going to be riffed at some point. Collected here are some of the movies most brought up in the Thread of Doom. Vote and discuss. Also vote in the Arnold poll.

You may notice Stallone has more options. Sorry, there were just more suggested. And yes, I purposely left off Rhinestone due to public health concerns.

Oh and of course I left off the Italian Stallion... even more so for health reasons...

Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Voted for the Judge!!

It tried so hard to be a cool comic book movie, only to fail. It had some good elements, but it was way too cheesy.

Bring on the Stallone Riffs, baby!!!

As much as i love it Rambo, mainly for the scene at the end where he breaks down in tears and you can't understand a word he says.
In brightest day, in darkest night
No DVD shall escape their sight
Let those who tremble in bad movies light,
Beware the power, Rifftrax's might!

Oh man, too many good choices in here.  Cobra, first and foremost, would be awesome.  I can't even begin to describe this movie to those who haven't seen it.  Just...go, find it, and watch it, and love it.

Also, Cliffhanger would be great.

Tango & Cash.  I haven't seen the movie in years, but remember it being great fun.  Kurt Russell is the man!

I always thought that Demolition Man is Stallone's best action movie.

Demolition Man was incredibly cheesy, but it was a riot.

I'm going to do a write in here and vote for Driven.  It's got all the right elements; cheesiness, bad acting, bad dialogue, bad special effects....and it's directed by Renny Harlin, a master of bad cinema.

Gah...Driven!  I loved how in that movie, it was as if each scene was written by a different screenwriter, none of whom knew what the rest of the screenwriters were up to with their scenes.  The whole movie is like being jostled violently from one moment to the next.

Since it was seconded (is that really a word?)  I will henceforth place it upon the actual poll.

Man, I would love to see Judge Dredd or Driven.

How a man can be in movies like that and be soooooo good in "Cop Land" is beyond me.   He must only try once a decade to be good.

Good call.  Cop Land is a fantastic movie, and Stallone is quite good in it.

I would like to Paradise Alley done. Not because it's a bad movie (actually its relatively good considering its pro wrestling movie which are usually pretty bad). I'd just like to see it get some fame back.

It's one of the few movies where Stallone isn't filmed with a midget camerman so he can look huge. He's pretty much dwarfed by the guy that plays his younger brother (who's action hero of the movie). Plus the bad guy wrestler is played by Terry Funk! He looks so different than usual and he looked huge in that movie, I didn't recognize him
I really do like pie.

What's that Stallone movie with Pele and they have to break out of prison during the soccer game?  Victory?  Cause, I haven't even seen that and I'm already smiling at the idea of that.

Oh wait, is Over the Top on there?  Arm wrestling + child custody battle = Intense Family Drama the likes of which haven't been seen onscreen since Ordinary People!

I'd put in for "Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot", but I'm pretty sure Geneva convention regulations prohibit referring non-enemy combatants to the film.
