Reno 911!
« on: January 17, 2008, 12:43:20 AM »
...is back. And it still sucks/doesn't suck, sucks/doesn't suck, sucks/doesn't suck. It gives me whiplash, and I'd feel better about it if cable and/or Comedy Central didn't shortchange us with 13-episode seasons unlike network TV.  How the hell many new episodes of South Park were there last year? Seemed like almost nothing. Anyway, Reno has finally jumped the shark.

I haven't seen the new episode yet.  I don't know how you can mess up a show like Reno since its mainly improvised.  I can't imagine them changing the formula now.  Either you like that style of comedy or you don't.  I've been looking forward to the new season for a while now.  What was wrong with it and were you a fan to begin with?

I thought it was hilarious. Still the same show, and looking forward to Diedrich Bader's 'Bounty Hunter' character :)

His name is Tommy Hawk and this seems to be his first appearance. Have you seen him before?

Ahaha, I think I'll put that on our Christmas card next year.

I really liked him in Napoleon Dynamite as the 'karate' instructor.

Reno911 really has some great moments.  It seems like the Christopher Guest -improv thing is a matter of taste, but I love it, personally.

Guestproving would be fine, but they fall back on big explosions and planned stunts 80% of the time.

for a second I believed that.... though I'm not sure if I do now or not....

but I loved the season premier of Reno 911, but it does seem hit or miss after the first couple seasons
