I bring you now, Soldier Boyz: The Video Game.  They basically took a B movie about convicts being enlisted to save a kidnapped presidents daughter in Vietnam which was shot by the DP of avatar and added some mildly interactive shooting portions shot by Darren Aronofsky's DP, with a cumulative effect of making a piece of crap game with strangely high production values for the full motion video. 

This is the game in its entirety, riffed by Retsupurae.

EDIT:  Oh and one of the convicts name is Butts.  That's right, Butts.  Pretty awesome.

Those were cool the first couple times I saw them because I admired the technical know-how needed to do it... but they don't actually sound pleasing.  It's grating, and goes on for way too long, and can't be all that hard to program if you already have the equipment and process set up.  So the internet has my permission to stop making these videos.

Yeah, I figured by now people would have gotten more creative with them, like trying to alter the tone/pitch of the drives so they play more like real midi channels.  At least bolt the drives to different sounding objects or something.

The hard drive as a speaker is also cool only for a minute, and actually less cool when you add a cup to increase the sound, it's just a coil and a magnet, so once you add a sounding board it's mechanically pretty close to a regular speaker.

Long story short, do NOT buy this game. Buy Telltale Games vastly superior Walking Dead game instead.
