Certainly people ask themselves "what's going on?" during his films.

What are people expecting the top 10 to include?

This probably won't happen with the top ten, but for the rest of the list... i'm guessing that a lot of people out there are completists and probably can't live with the fact that the guys have only riffed like, the first Matrix or Lord Of The Rings films. So unfortunately i expect the rest of the list to be filled with lots of sequels. Definitely not the whole thing, but i'm pretty sure there's going to be some more Star Treks, Star Wars, LOTR, Matrix, Harry Potter... etc.

.... just to knitpick, because I made a point of looking it up when I saw this, I don't think those girls were GREEK muses. No Kira in the group according to Wikipedia. I thik they're just general muses.

During the movie, Kira tries to tell Sonny that her name is actually Terpsichore (the "[one who] delights in dance", muse of choral song and dance) but he cuts her off.....

Which is ironic, in that her eight sisters are all the dancers and she just barely walks in time through the routines.   ;)

FZ fans may be familiar with Terpsichore from a passing mention in the song "Mudd Club:"

Quote
And all the rest of whom for which to whensonever of partially indeterminate bio-chemical degradation.  Seek the path to the sudsy yellow nozzle of their foaming nocturnal parametric digital whole-wheat inter-faith geo-thermal terpsichorean ejectamenta.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

I must say I'm guilty of that. I think that being a completionist is something that comes with being a nerd.

Man, the longer the list gets, the less confident I am that one of my top two movies won't make it.  Cue my sad face.

Okay, I'm over it.

25. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - (2002)- 85 points
(8 of 40 lists. Highest ranking - #4 Smoky)

"Sauron's forces increase. His allies grow. The Ringwraiths return in an even more frightening form. Saruman's army of Uruk Hai is ready to launch an assault against Aragorn and the people of Rohan. Yet, the Fellowship is broken and Boromir is dead. For the little hope that is left, Frodo and Sam march on into Mordor, unprotected. A number of new allies join with Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Pippin and Merry. And they must defend Rohan and attack Isengard. Yet, while all this is going on, Sauron's troops mass toward the City of Gondor, for the War of the Ring is about to begin."

Marvel as the fight of the century is masterfully captured on film!  The battle of Good vs. Evil has never been so breathtaking and memorable!  Absolutely nothing was spared in shooting this most epic of epic showdowns!  Oh, and enjoy this pleasant little subplot about a wedding ring or something.

24. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope - (1977)- 86 points
(6 of 40 lists. Highest ranking - #3 Tyrant)

"Princess Leia is held hostage by the evil Imperial forces in their effort to take over the Galactic Empire. Venturesome Luke Skywalker and dashing Captain Han Solo team together with the lovable robotic duo, R2-D2 and C-3PO, to rescue the beautiful princess and restore justice in the Empire."

Never before has rooting for the people who are trying to overthrow the government been so much fun.

23. Xanadu - (1980)- 86 points
(6 of 40 lists. Highest ranking - 2 #1 votes, dignan, annearchist)

"The Greek muses incarnate themselves on Earth to inspire men to achieve. One of them, incarnated as a girl named Kira, encounters an artist named Sonny Malone. With the help of Danny McGuire, a man Kira had inspired forty years earlier, Sonny builds a huge disco roller rink."

And to think that a joke pertaining to this movie ("Xanadu?  More like Xana-DON'T, amirite?") is the title of a Broadway musical.  As is this movie.  Goddamn, they'll make a musical out of anything, won't they?  What's next, Evil Dead?

... Oh, wait.

22. Superman III - (1983)- 88 points
(4 of 40 lists. Highest ranking - #1 Homunculus)

"Wealthy businessman Ross Webster discovers the hidden talents of Gus Gorman, a mischievous computer genius. Ross decides to abuse his talents, in a way to help Webster with his plans for economic control. When the man of steel interferes, something must be done about Supes. When Gus' synthetic Kryptonite fails to kill Superman, it turns him in an evil incarnation of his former self. The tar-laced Kryptonite pits man against himself, setting up the Clark vs. Superman battle."

Tar-laced Kryptonite?  If this movie isn't some kind of allegory about the dangers of smoking, I'll eat my hat with ketchup.

21. Highlander II: The Quickening - (1991)- 89 points
(4 of 40 lists. Highest ranking - #1 gbeenie)

"In the year 2025, the ozone layer is believed to have been destroyed. It is up to MacLeod and Rameriz to set things right. Opposition comes from both the planet Ziest (MacLeod and Ramirez's homeworld) and a corporation profiting from the supposed lack of ozone. Also, flashbacks show the story behind MacLeod and Ramirez's exile from Ziest."

(gasp!)  Al Gore was RIGHT!

Yeah, I wish people would NOT insist on all these sequels.  Hearing the same sort of jokes over again is not my idea of a good Rifftrax.  There are so many movies out there to riff.
On timeout

I'd kill someone in front of their mother for a Zardoz riff. I couldn't get past the half-hour mark on that lunacy, and when Connery hides in a big pile of wheat? What?
