Your viewing rights to Signal30 have expired
« on: January 02, 2008, 08:00:17 AM »
I get the message:

Your viewing rights to Signal30 have expired

when trying to open Signal30 in my Divx Player on a Macintosh. Was there a time limit on this short? It was free so I'm not complaining, but I was just curious  :).

It did that to me on my Macbook.  Rifftrax was looking in to it.  I was able to watch it once, and then it gave me the expired message.  I haven't had a problem with the Santa divx, so I'm thinking the Signal30 is timing out because it is being treated like a rental.

It's just a sample, so no big deal.  They aren't going to finish riffing that short anyway.
On timeout

If you really want to see it again...and if you look in the right places, you can find it.

Thanks for the answers! Part of me was just curious but I also wanted to look into it a little more to feel secure about purchasing A Visit to Santa. I just got a DivX-capable DVD player  :D and am anxious to try it out. I might try to fire up the DivX player in Parallels (Windows XP) and give it a try since it seems that Mac-support is still possibly not quite there with Leopard. Thanks again!

Update: I just tried the file on Windows and the same error occurs. So, it must have been time-limited. Thanks for the input!

stirrell,

Can you PM me with your DivX Transaction ID or email address, and I will reactivate it? Is this just for Signal30 or did it happen with A Visit to Santa?

(Trying to remember if Signal30 was treated as a purchase or a rental...)

Anybody have any luck on getting Signal 30 "reactivated"? I emailed RiffTrax about this a few weeks ago, but no reply...
