The role of 'Black Guy' was one of the most coveted roles in this film.  And Sam Jackson made a cool $20 million for the role. :)

I entered the three actual character names showing in it ["Efram Maldonado" "Omar Maldonado" "Raymond Brown"] into Google, and it gave 'Sea of Love' (1989).  When I went to IMDb, sure enough, 'Black Guy' was played by Samuel L. Jackson in that.
