I can't tell the difference between the exaggerated parody that Clickhole has of Alex Jones and the actual Alex Jones.

I don't really get the joke (I usually don't on XKCD), but it's still funny for the visuals.

I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

That's timely, recently I've been fixing the interferometer on one of the instruments at work.

But the cartoon is probably talking about radio telescope interferometry, where the signals from devices far apart are combined to get better resolution.
