My first was The War of the Colossal Beast... I didn't even know what I was watching. My wife had been channel surfing earlier that day and saw Rocketship XM, which was one of her favorite old movies. She was annoyed that these guys kept talking over it though. Anyway, she saw MST3K was on again that night and had it on. I wandered in just as Mr B Natural was starting. I laughed until my face hurt. I thought it was hilarious... when it was over they did the robot debate over whether Mr B was a man or a woman... I didn't really get what the robots were all about... then they went to commercial and I figured it was over. When I realized that they were about to do an entire, feature length movie I about died! I laughed my ass off until 1:00 am...

I looked it up today and the first MST3K that I saw was the last ever aired.  I happened to click upon Sci-Fi and saw a Gumby cartoon with weird silhouettes on the bottom.  I like claymation like Gumby so I left it on.  Then I noticed that the silhouettes were talking, and they were saying some pretty funny stuff.  Quickly I ran downstairs and grabbed a tape and started recording "The Screaming Skull" on January 31st 2004.  I watched the show all the way through and loved it.  When I looked at the TV guide to see when it was on next week i couldn't find it.  I asked my parents if they had ever heard of it and they told me that my uncle has many of the episodes taped.  We started a tradition of watching them whenever we got together.  I think it was by a stroke of luck that i managed to have caught the last aired episode of MST3K, otherwise who knows where I'd be now.

My first MST was The Revenge of the Creature. I was walking through Sears one day with my dad and as we passed the TV department I saw the same thing playing on all the TVs: a wierd old black and white movie with three guys in the corner gesturing and talking. I asked my dad what it was and it all snowballed from there.

Um....Hmmmm.....

No, sorry.  Sears is still the Anti-Christ as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not sure which one was the first.  I only had cable briefly during season 3.  I have to admit, at first I HATED Mst3k.  It irritated me that they kept talking over the movie.  I LOVE bad movies.  I just wanted to watch the movie.  They had one every night at midnight.  Well, I kept tuning in, because I love bad movies and it was the only place to get 'em.  But every once in a while they would say something funny and I would double over.  But the first time I really watched, was "The Day the Earth Froze."  That was the one that hooked me.  I've been a fan ever since.

Come of think of it.  I think the Day the Earth Froze was from season 4.  My bad.
Are you my virgins?  I hope not!

I was about thirteen years old, my dad and I were watching TV and we stumbled upon Comedy Central to find "The Gunslinger." My dad loves old westerns and we almost passed out from laughing so hard. I've loved (nearly) every MST I can get my hands on, but he only liked that one. Any of the others I showed him he didn't like. Weird.

I don't know that it's so weird.  My Ex loved the Shorts....but the movies he hated....called it "shit".

One of many reasons he's now my Ex.

I've always preferred the movies to the shorts myself.  Now I do love the "posture pal" and "a date with the family" stuff, but when they do the features, I get to see the movie too.  That way, I won't have to endure it vanilla sometime in the hazy future.  :)

My first was The Hellcats, and I was pretty young so it might have been when it first aired.  And it took years for me to finally figure out which ep it was when I got older.  In the pre-google days, it was pretty hard to figure that out, especially since the only solid moment I remembered was the biker chick at the beginning taking her bra off and putting it on the casket, and that's hard to enter into a search engine.

As we say on Dave Barry's blog, SNORK at Junkyard. :)

Let's see, first episode that I remember -- you guys are gonna have to help me out here. It's one where someone was pounding on a lattice and one of the guys quipped, "Lattice in!" It seems to me I'd caught bits of it on TV before that, but that was the first MST3K joke that made me laugh, so it's the first episode I remember. And that's the one and only time I've ever seen that episode, so I have no idea which one it was.

And that's all you remember about it?   :o

Wow....do you even remember if it was CC or Sci-Fi?
