not a DVD player, but the actualy Divx Player itself.

I downloaded Divx to my new computer and my brothers laptop. I then tried to download A Visit to Santa, the file itself was locked, and wouldn't open.

Did it give you an error message?

Okay so it's probably something like "You are attempting to play a video that is no longer available or has been removed, deleted.." etc. Something like that.

Try removing the file you were trying to watch, and download the new one from the .tix file I just regenerated for you. (It should show up in an email momentarily.)

Torgos... are you saying I should've received an e-mail with a download link?  Because I didn't.  Not a blank one... none at all.  I did receive the order receipt, but for RiffTrax there are usually 2 e-mails.... one with an order receipt and one with download links.   And as I mentioned above, trying to download the .tix file from my order history doesn't work.

Yeah I realized there was an issue with the catalogue version of the "Buy now" button, but it was fixed pretty quickly. Looks like you were too quick.

I'll look and make sure others didn't have the same issue. I fixed yours and resubmitted it, you now have a watchable .tix file waiting for you.

Sampo,

I'm not sure what the problem could be - we tested it on a MacBook and it worked fine. Anything special about your setup?

Well, I've solved my problem: I discovered to my delight that my DVD player (the great Philips 642--a little slow reacting to the remote, but it plays ANYTHING) is a Divx-Certified device. With some struggling with Divx support, they gave me the file I needed to unlock it, and I can view them on my TV (which I prefer to watching on the computer anyway) just fine.

In short, now I am as happy as a leetle girrrrrrrlll. :-)

Sweet! Although it sucks you had to go to Support for the file. Is that the Activation Video they mention in the FAQ?

I assume so. It was the only way to get it, since the player that would get the file wouldn't work for me and the player that worked for me wouldn't get the file.

It was a ".divx" file. I burned it to a CD, popped it into the player and "BING!" it said "Your device is now authorized" or words to that effect. I'm now very psyched for the next VOD file!

I want to give props to Divx support, which was very patient with me, considering that I can be somewhat thick, tech-wise.
