I don't think it's considered canon, though. Kind of like the "Infinities" series where they took the first trilogy and turned the stories on their ear.

Hey I might have to read those.

When I first heard of the tv series, it had yet to be given a name.  At the time I got my hopes up, thinking this to be a potential compromise on Georges' part.  I'm sure many of you may recall a rumor that was circulating shortly after ANH that it, ESB & RotJ were set squarely in the middle of a 9 movie franchise.  I figured that by the time Sith arrived that George was just plain burned out on the SW universe as a whole.  The compromise would be that Lucas would turn the majority of control over to someone else who would flesh out the remaining post RotJ storyline.  Like many others have said, it seems like the whole clone wars era has been thoroughly strip-mined.  I would much rather see a post RotJ or a pre Phantom storyline...

Then again, anyone remeber the Mortal Kombat TV series?

On the bright side, it could be turoughly enjoyable once Mike, Kevi, & Bill get ahold of it.  Hell they made the prequels ALMOST palatable....

Plus, NOBODY seems to get that "Old Ben" (which is what Luke calls him to Owen) is a corruption of "Obi-Wan," not some weird pseudonym he chooses out of nowhere.

Nope, I dont buy it.  "Old Ben"  "Obi Wan"  thats a bit of a stretch.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I figure if he said his name to someone who's first language was not Basic (English), it could easily get garbled into Old Ben. Especially if it was a noisy area.

Is it just me or are we putting way too much thought into something that probably took Lucas a few seconds to decide?

Yes, but why should that stop us?

My guess is that the name would be garbled into simply Ben. And the passage of time would have appended the Old part by itself.

I still firmly believe that the Prequels are simply an alternate reality and have nothing to do with the original star wars trilogy. Why? Too many inconsistencies.

Does this mean that, some time in the future we might see Episode I-III We Really Mean It This Time?

Optimistically... I would say no.
