(not to be confused with total virgin Star Trek fans)

funny cos it's true
In brightest day, in darkest night
No DVD shall escape their sight
Let those who tremble in bad movies light,
Beware the power, Rifftrax's might!

And George Takei is gay now.  Or out of the closet at least.  That's important to know.  But even Mike has advised (in Movie Megacheese) never to watch as many as four Star Trek films in a row.  And I would recommend never watching the first one.

Oh no, I recommend watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture to anyone who is already familiar with Star Trek simply because it is impossible to describe adequately. When someone asks me, "Which one was that?" I respond that it can only be experienced.

But Trek newbies should avoid it like a department store perfume sampler. Your mind will crack open as musty confusion gives way to abject boredom.

I was taken to see ST:TMP in the theater as a newcomer to Trek AND as a small child.

A deadly combination, with results much as you described.  As a kid who was digging Star Wars, I remember feeling like I was waiting forever for the movie to start.  And that was an hour into the movie.  I probably also had the profound thought: "Hey, that woman is bald."

I think the first Halloween movie was really a 3 man job. So little happens in this movie, so there was little to make fun. Had Bill been on board with the other 2 at the same time, I think the whole track would have been twice as funny. They could have had conversations about topical stuff during all the walking, staring, establishing

I think that dead air makes for better MST3K and rifftrax. Remember, Plan Nine From Outer Space was originally rejected for being "too talky".

You are all so wrong, it's not even funny.

Wait... what are we talking about?  Oh, Halloween, nevermind... you are all right.  Except for the part where you started typing.  Then, you were WAAAY off.

Damn!!  Is it Halloween already?  What the...?  Did I pass out and miss ANOTHER Summer??!?!?!

This is easily one of my top 5 rifftrax.  It's friggin Halloween!  And its Rifftrax!  its heaven.

And as for the slow parts....I enjoyed them riffing and acknowledging it.  And their little skits like the "you scared me" one.
