The Original Movie Suggestions Thread

Great work so far. I love all the current rifftrax. Just wanted to mention a couple movies I think would benefit from humorous commentary:

Dawn of the Dead (Original)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (Any will do)
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Exit Wounds

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit_Wounds

I was watching the television while procrastinating our school assignments with a friend. There are so many flaws with this modern B movie. For instance, the presidential motercade drove off in new shiny Suburbans with flush headlights and a chrome grill. The next scene right after clearly features footage of earlier model suburbans which was given off by the plastic grill and those square halogen headlights.

Quote
Main cast
Steven Seagal - Orin Boyd
DMX - Latrell Walker
Isaiah Washington - George Clark
Anthony Anderson - T.K. Johnson
Michael Jai White - Lewis Strutt
Bill Duke - Chief Hinges
Jill Hennessy - Annette Mulcahy
Tom Arnold - Henry Wayne
Bruce McGill - Frank Daniels
David Vadim - Matt Montini
Eva Mendes - Trish

From what I remember, the whole plot just idolizes Steven Seagal and DMX and there is a disturbing masochistic scene in the Police locker room.

Pure cheese, and definately a classic Seagal/Gangsta Rapper turned Actor movie.

I think ANY movie ever premiered on the Sci-fi channel would be swell for riffing.  Those movies are so bad I just can't stand them.  Only one that I can remember called "Skeeter".  It's about some large mosquitos.

Ah I just thought of another one.  Dollar for the Dead, starring Emilio Estevez and six shooters that never need a reload.  Seriously.  I gave up on the movie when he was shooting up a place with well over twelve shots and didn't have to reload.  I half expected him to proclaim himself as the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in this here wild west.

I would enjoy seeing Total Recall being riffed on. I feel there is enough "over-the-topness" to be made fun of.

That's an excellent candidate. :D

If I might add:

Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311361/

It's a semi-obscure low-budget B-style movie made a few years ago in Ottawa, Canada, which involves the Son of God dishing out justice and taking down a group of lesbian vampires with a Mexican wrestler sidekick.

I like that Mike's doing more popular movies, but I'd also like to see him take a stab at some recent oddball movies as well. Oddball movies are what made him famous, after all. :D

Sin City was on one of the polls but I don't remember it getting very many votes.  I implore the readers here, the neat look it had (if you can consider blood the color and consistancy of semen neat) could not save it from the horrible script and acting.  I mean, a gang of prostitutes with guns and martial arts... this movie needs to be taken down a notch so they might stop wasting money on sequels.

I thought it was rather well done, actually - you must either have not read the comics the movie was based on, or are just not a fan of them. The acting was not bad, really, it was done in that style intentionally, I had assumed - a very 'comic'-like over-the-top-ness that suited the visual style, similar to the old pulp-style detective movies.

But of course, to each his own. :D

I do enjoy pulp-style detective movies, but there isn't much of a comic over the top ness in them like there was in this movie.  They tend to be quite serious.  But the movie never went far enough for me to consider it to be poking fun at pulp-style detective movies, it seemed to be emulating it, just very poorly.  Maybe I misunderstood this acting choice as poor acting and bad dialogue.  And if that's the case then I don't know what to say.  I will admit however that it was shot with much more than competence.
