Color Version or B & W ?
« on: October 31, 2007, 12:39:42 AM »
The color version has a slightly longer run time which I am assuming is for the colorization credits. Can someone in the know verify that the black and white version is the same as the color version? and should sync up correctly?

Well, i watched the Rifftrax with the color version and it worked perfectly. There's even a riff that's directly related to the color of the space maidens. So i can only assume that Mike & Fred were watching the color version as they riffed, and that's the version that Rifftrax intended to be used.

Of course... none of that really answers your question, at all. So i'll just shut up now!~

Good to know, cuz I was gonna re-author with the B&W version, but if they riff on the color of something, looks like I'll have to use that version instead.

I think when I do my re-author, I will mix the RiffTrax to both versions.
Now I just need to decide if I will use two DVD's - one for B&W and one for Color....or should I splurge and just put both on a dual layer DVD...

hmmm....decisions, decisions...

I can tell you that the version available on Netflix won't sync up very well.  That's the first version I tried before finally deciding to go ahead and get the Legend Films DVD.

I got the download version, so it was in color and after watching it the 5th or 6th time I really wished I could have seen it in black and white.  My analytical mind got distracted by the unnatural colors and looking for tiny flaws in color transition.

Then I had an inspiration for the greatest invention ever -- a button on the TV/DVD player/computer video color which simply switched the video to black and white!  It would be like getting two movies for the price of one!  Better yet, add a "sepia" button and few other hues.
