This one's directed at Lembach.

Do the support agents who do the online chat thing copy and paste EVERYTHING they say?

At DISH they were supposed to, so I assume the answer is yes.

See, Verizon didn't want us to say the same things over and over. The only things we had to read verbatim were terms and conditions and dead air scripts.

Do they not teach kids how to fill out a mailing envelope properly in school anymore ???

I had to show our former part-time guy (currently in college) how to do it when he was here and still screwed it up several times, and our new part time girl who just graduated high school can't fill it out right either!
:grr:

Mailing to:

Name
Address
City, state, zip code

This goes in The CENTER of the envelope!

Return address:

Name
Address
City, state, zip code

Goes on the TOP LEFT of the envelope!

Stamps are placed on the TOP RIGHT of the envelope!

WTF Over ::)

But if you want to send it for free, put the return address as the one you're trying to send it to.

I've known how to do it since 1st grade, I think. Pretty sure that was part of my young schooling. I've rarely used it, but I've been thinking about starting to send letters to people. Might be a fun way to communicate.

I've known how to do it since 1st grade, I think. Pretty sure that was part of my young schooling. I've rarely used it, but I've been thinking about starting to send letters to people. Might be a fun way to communicate.

There are three people (at two addresses) where I have to do this.  My folks at one address (who, because my dad ignored my dire warnings got AOL over a decade ago, and cancelled it after a few years of nothing but hassles, and angrily refuses to ever get internet again), and one of my oldest, dearest friends at the other (who says that her e-mail messed up and she hasn't bothered to fix it; I think part of the lack of incentive for that is because she was getting overloaded with stuff from bunches of people and felt obligated to respond to it all).

Since I don't hand-write anything (because I type sooooo much faster than I can hand-write [plus the massive amount of editing for the things I write to make sense isn't exactly possible with hand-written letters ::)]), the only difference between that and writing here is printing and sticking whatever in an envelope and adding a stamp (and leaving it out for my postal carrier).

I must say, if you want what you are writing to anyone to have more impact: do it via snail mail.  I read about two decades ago (before e-mail became as ubiquitous as it now is), that even then places like congressional offices and businesses gave about 10x the 'weight' to a snail-mail letter than they did to an e-mail (e.g. one snail mail letter was given the 'value' of 10 e-mailed ones).  I suspect it is quite a bit more than that now, since snail mail letters have become so rare.

Aw, c'mon! You're just being hyperbolic.  Morse Code and Semaphore are much better examples  ;)
