Protip: If your boss tells you that it's not OK to swear on the job, or to use you phones, have them out or even on, DON'T DO THOSE THINGS. One of the major causes for loss of employment at Xerox is the phone thing, because it's part of the contract with Verizon. Swearing is ALSO a big no-no, because for every vulgarity that's heard by the customer, we get a 50k fine, and those mics are sensitive.  I'd been ignoring the vulgarity all week. I hadn't been cussing, but the two guys who sit next to me talk all the time, dropping "f***" and "s***" into conversations, almost every other sentence. It was annoying me, because even though I use those words on a frequent basis, they're against the rules. Then today, they were talking about football, and someone near them mentioned that they liked the Packers. One of those guys said, "Oh, you mean the Green Bay F*ggots? The Green Bay Fudge Packers?"

Like I said, I can ignore them ignoring company policy to an extent, but this word is a hot button for me, and my uncle called me fudge packer repeatedly when I came out the first time. It may not have been used against me, but I'm not going to tolerate EITHER of those things being said around me
Yes, and I'm sure when you get pushed completely over the edge, you'll write a very long aggravated post here followed by absolutely nothing there.

That would make sense if I was you, maybe. Seems I failed to mention that I DID tell my supervisor, who took it very seriously. If you don't like my posts, no need to belittle them; ignore me and move on. Stop being an asshole. :)

A little advice for this holiday season: If you plan on sending out cards, make sure you put them in a sturdy envelope. This is what the machines that sort your mail look like. If your envelope is basically tissue paper then, if you're lucky, it tears open right at the start. The machine immediately jams and we can easily match the card/address. Otherwise it makes it all the way through the machine and we find scraps of envelope everywhere. Those two $75 and one $20 gift cards you put in the card? Gone.

Also, please don't send any candy, ornaments, or anything like that in a regular envelope. Just pay the slightly higher shipping for a bubble wrap envelope.

Mmm hmmm.  Sure.  I believe that.

I guess I could ignore your posts.  I've actually considered just putting you on ignore.  You could also just not make them, and deal with your problems instead of using a public forum as your personal therapist's office to make passive-agressive swipes at the people who annoy you.  Seriously, everything you write is some complaint about one thing or the other.  Do you not see how a person like that could be considered unpleasant to be around?

I just want to disabuse you of this misconception you seem to have that you're in a safe place among friends here.

When's the last time that I haven't actually DEALT with my problems in ways suggested by people here, or in another way? Oh, I suppose it'd be impossible for you to know that unless you followed me around in my day to day life. My issues with my mother are being dealt with; I got a job to become self reliant. I talk to my roommate about the shit he does that annoys me. I don't know why you WOULDN'T believe that I'd tell my very approachable trainer that someone in the office had been using language that not only offended me, but could cost the company 50k+ dollars, because I did just that before we left for the day.

Say what you will, I do consider you guys to be my friends. You're all awesome people that I care about a lot, and want the best for you guys. If I don't always respond to the you're facing, or issues that you're having, it's because I just don't know how to help, because I'm not good at that. I'm a much better listener.

Is there any particular reason you're being such an asshat, Thrifty?

I don't like people who constantly, endlessly complain about their personal problems.  Now and then?  Fine.  We all have our problems and we all need to vent.  But this QV character does it all the time.  Do you understand how some people might find this annoying?

You know it's not mandatory to read every post in the forum, right?

Considering we have threads completely dedicated to venting frustrations and asking for personal advice used by several people, I fail to see the problem with anything QV is doing.

Like my posts antagonizing him?

Okay here's the thing.  You're right, it's my fault that I'm annoyed because I'm deliberately exposing myself to things that I know will annoy me.  It's hypocritical for me to complain about it because I chastise Just-The-Trax for doing the same thing in the politics thread.  I know I have the self control not to; I breeze past anything that Mike5150 posts in the politics thread, and pretty much anything Sideswipe says anywhere.  But you know what?  I had a grievance to air and I aired it.  I want him to know how much I dislike him and how little respect I have.

It's a PUBLIC forum.  When I seek comfort in my close friends, I do it privately, not shouting in the middle of a McDonald's or something.

And yet, he couldn't keep it confined to that thread, now could he?

My point is that she's free to express herself as she sees fit on this PUBLIC forum within reason.
